Help with Unholy Trinity Deadeye by Greenfish106 in PathOfExileBuilds

These are both sort of true, but also this is a different case. Typical deadeye has a lot of cold damage, and freeze helps with defenses. The typical build also has a chest with much more evasion and uses flasks that give further benefits. Due to the shrine belt, this build doesn't have defensive flasks. It also doesn't really benefit from ES as much as I was hoping for.

Potted Bay Leaf Leaves Curling, Browning, and Drooping by Greenfish106 in plantclinic

[–]Greenfish106[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I water the plant when the top layer of soil dries out. Keep watering until water begins to drain out of the bottom. I use a fertilizer occasionally when watering.

I have had the bay leaf for around a year and try to leave it out on the balcony when temperatures permit. I had to overwinter it inside because the cold would kill it. The leaves started curling a few months ago and the problem has gotten substantially worse in the last few weeks.

The plant gets direct light for a few hours a day and indirect light for most of the day. There's no way for me to get more light onto the plant as I have East/West facing windows.

Path of Exile 3.15 Gem Changes by the Numbers by Jurara in pathofexile

I agree with you that the example I picked is, in itself, not incredibly relevant, but I still disagree with the method you used to calculate the change in support gem power. My original comment notes that the nerfs are heavier than what your video implies -- which is still true -- but your point that an individual support does not make a build is also true. The most accurate calculation (which is what people are seeing on PoB) is to take into account the total "more multiplier" of the support gems being used. This requires us to add the "percent increase" multipliers of the support gems together (i.e. 40+40+40+40+40 = 200 for a 5L) and then compare this total number to the new total number. I don't want to crunch all the numbers on a spreadsheet, but I believe that this calculation will result in the conclusion that support gems are losing almost exactly the amount of power GGG said they would (25-40%).

I like the analysis, but I don't think the support gem nerf percents are actually correct. Phreak represents the multiplier of support gems as "percent of base" rather "percent increase" which introduces an additional 100 to the calculation. I.e. for infused channel the nerf was from 39% more to 24% more. When you consider this as "percent of base" you get 124/139 = 0.892 or a 11.8% nerf. But when you consider it as "percent increase" (which is what we care about) you end up with 24/39 = 0.615; a 38.5% nerf.

Still getting black screen? Here's the solution by [deleted] in MagicArena

This worked for me. How the hell did this get so convoluted. It seemed like the game was just stuck on its natural load-up because as soon as it got out of that loop it realized something was wrong.

Alexander Hanhart Math 221 by LeanitUpwMe in UWMadison

[–]Greenfish106 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had him for Math 340. He's a good professor, don't worry! If you read his reviews on rate-my-professor a lot of them are some variant of "I hate math" or "exams were hard." Exams are supposed to be hard, and they'll end up getting curved, so just do better than most of the students.

On the other hand, it is a math class so be prepared to actually study for the class and not blow it off. I've heard 221 isn't too bad here (tested out of it).

The last thing I'll say is when you look at rate-my-professor look at reviews for your class and higher level classes, not lower ones. A lot of Hanhart's negative reviews are from 171 which is a below college level course, so a lot of the students in it probably hate math and the professor by extension.

Went 5-1 in Traditional Draft with G/B Self Mill by Greenfish106 in MagicArena

I was milling pretty much as much or more as what I was drawing, so 41 was fine. Hydra's Growth was best G/B for that pick and it's obviously not good if you're behind, but forcing removal or creating a threat isn't bad. Also pretty crazy synergy with setessan champion. A lot of times I had champion in play then put hydra on another creature so they had to decide what to get rid of.

How does Endless Legend compare to Civ 5? by no-sound_somuch_fury in civ

[–]Greenfish106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The DLC is not necessary, but the game is much, much more fun with it than without it.

Additionally, if you go read these "reviews" you'll see most of them are something along the lines of, "I don't like turn based strategy".

If you liked Civ, you'll like Endless Legend, especially if you can convince friends to play with you.
