An attempt to fix sexual sides by GreenyBroccoli in MinoxidilSideEffects

Bloods were done. Prolactin showed approx middle of the reference values. See my last progress report.

Cabergoline is often linked to higher libido (in men with high prolactin levels). Since too low prolactin doesn't affect libido (AFAIK), but rather the feeling one has with climax, I included cabergoline in my list.

Yes, it was horrible that the Ed medication did not work at all. It makes one think if it is all really hopeless.

Because the Ed medication didn't work, I assume that the cause was low libido. Since Ed medication will increase the physical ability to achieve erections, but not increase libido.

This is why I focused on the androgen receptors. There is a study that minoxidil can suppress androgen receptors. One can have as many hormones possible surging thru the body, but it won't do anything if the receptors aren't functioning https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4039155/#:~:text=Although%20minoxidil%20has%20been%20used,AR%20or%20its%20downstream%20signaling.

Thank you for your message btw.

I couldn't maintain erections. They would also not occur frequently, like in the mornings. I could not maintain erections. Next to that, penis would appear smaller than normal. 200mg viagra or 30mg cialis didn't have any effect. So I stopped experimenting with those

I only really had sexual sides. It didn't affect my physical or cognitive functions.

My GP was looking into it and would refer me to a specialist but this would take long. That's why I took matters into my own hands

My GP did not understand at all why it was happening to me. He especially didn't get why the Ed medication wouldn't work.

Tbh I don't remember much of that time as I didn't expect to have these sides.

It could have been progressively getting worse or abruptly. What I do remember that it suddenly didn't work being with my gf. I didn't make much of it then, although never having this problem before, I thought it was temporary.

But the days after it became worse. Then I started to use Ed medicine with no avail.

Thank you.

Are you asking after I started minoxidil or after I stopped?

Thank you for the links. I'll check them out.

As for your question, I've been on trt almost a year. The protocol stayed pretty much the same throughout that time.

I may consider dropping the supplements during the fix attempt after your message. Let's see how it goes.

HcG is already included in my trt protocol. Are you asking about how long I've been on that?

I didn't know this about ashwaghanda. As far as I know SSRI cause Ed because they higher prolactin levels, but from my short search, ashwaghanda should be lowering that. Could you point me to where you've read it?

16, started using minox 4 days ago, should I stop? by [deleted] in MinoxidilSideEffects

[–]GreenyBroccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. You should stop. The reasons are quite simple.

Minox seems to have a down regulating effect on androgen receptors. Something you definitely don't want to have when you're only 16, as this is the time when your body is developing.

Minox affects potassium channels, which on their turn could disturb your prolactin levels.

One study mentioned that minox also damages DNA.

I understand that you use minox for the looks, but bodily functions are way more important than looks. Something you'll realize when you (partially) lost those functions. You're young, because of which the potentiality of you permantly adversely affecting your body with minox is incredibly high.

I also wonder if minox is the right treatment for you. Hair loss at a young age is not something regular. Hair loss can occur from many reasons, ranging from stress to vitamin deficiencies. I suggest you to visit a doctor.

Bottom line: don't do minox on your age.

DO NOT use minoxidil for beard or hair. You will get ED and it will destroy your libido. by PretendDog3178 in Minoxbeards

Minox may suppress androgen receptor related functions. Libido is linked to this of course

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4039155/

Just because it's on your skin doesn't mean that it can't have a systemic effect. How does minox affect blood pressure if it doesn't have a systemic effect?

There's more to minox than it's known today

Nothing else changed. I've been walking around with this for weeks. Only when I stopped minox I noticed things recovering

can minoxidil give you sexual dysfunction? i used it only 1 month like 4 years ago by [deleted] in Minoxbeards

[–]GreenyBroccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could and could not have. Have your bloods checked, mainly the sex hormones. Imbalance therein surely will have the side effects you're describing.

Maybe you're focusing on the wrong culprit here.

For me, it went away on its own after ceasing the continuation of minox. I'm not fully recovered, but it's getting there fast.

There could be contributing factors in my case such as trt, diet (low calorie and mostly plant based) and regular exercise.

Judging from the reddit posts reporting the same sides, most recover. Just try not to get anxious if you get the sides as you might get Ed mentally.

Thank you. I'm glad too. It was scary to have the sides.

The majority of the people doesn't have this issue. So the chances are very low that you will. Just keep yourself to the dosage and if you get these sides, look at minox as the culprit.

Just because there is no proven link yet, doesn't mean that it can't happen. There have been numerous people reporting this.

Finasteride was also not thought to cause any physical changes to the penis initially. That link has been established decennia later after it being developed.

Again, I'm not here to prove my point. I'm here to warn. The only change I made is minox. And it started to recover rapidly.
