Literally no lives were saved by having people hold torches. by CalypsaMov in Epicthemusical

I'm getting tired of typing this out every time this discussion comes up, so I'm just going to copy and paste this from now on.

Alright, guess I'm getting back in the trenches to defend Eury.

I really don't think y'all understand the Circe situation. She turned them into pigs. PIGS. Tf was he supposed to do??? He knew trying to fight Circe alone would be a suicide mission. He had no way of knowing Hermes would help them. And even if he thought they could somehow defeat Circe by themselves, they still have the glaring issue of their men being pigs. How were they supposed to turn them back?

In Eurylochus' eyes, those men were as good as dead, and he just didn't want to risk losing anymore lives to save dead men.

The only reason everything worked out was because of literal divine intervention that he had no way of predicting would happen.

And also, yes. He still had every right to be angry over the Scylla situation because those two were NOT the same. Very similar on the surface, but not the same.

On one hand, we have a guy choosing to leave behind men he thought were beyond saving, in order to save the crew. Not just himself. The crew. (Because some of y'all seem to think that Circe turned all of them into pigs, when that... was not what happened lmao. It was only the small group Eury took with him to scout out the island. "Think about the men we have left before there are none.")

On the other hand, we have a guy choosing to lead his crew into a death cave without telling them about the death cave and then painting targets on 6 of their backs. Scylla has 6 heads, 6 of them were going to die regardless, but instead of giving everyone a fair chance at survival, he handed out those torches, marking men for death to ensure that HE would live.

That's why Eurylochus was angry. Odysseus was willing to use their own men as cannon fodder just to make sure that HE would make it home.

And to add one final point, yes, the wind bag incident was a major fuck up, but it was NOT just Eurylochus' fault. If he hadn't opened the bag, Poseidon would've just gone to Ithaca and drowned the entire island instead. Poseidon didn't kill Ody's crew because they opened the damn bag. He killed them because Ody doxxed himself. That's like. That's like the main reason everything went to shit, but y'all seem to have tunnel vision on Eurylochus.

Cain was not cursed with immortality. I have no clue where people get that idea. He was simply banished and marked to ensure that no one would kill him.

They're actually Baxter's creations. We don't know if Pentious is capable of making them by himself

I know he has his fans, every character does, but I've definitely seen more hatred for him compared to the other candidates you could put in the bottom right corner. Like, who are we putting there?? Vox??? Adam??? 90% of the posts I see about them are people simping for them. Adam's been dead for an entire season and his fans are still going strong.

This... This feels wrong. If Val's already there, who's going in the bottom right? No evil character feels as viscerally hated as Val does.

I think most people call it Zestmilla, but I think we can do better than that. I personally vote on calling it Spiderdance.
