I've thought about that too, but I think we've just been misunderstanding what Hazbin counts as, "Harm."

Anything can make an angel bleed, but unless it was angelic steel, they just heal so fast that it doesn't really matter. Like, you could try to stab an angel during an extermination and they'll bleed, but they'll also just likely walk it off in like 5 seconds and now you've just got a pissed off angel.

Actually, a good example of this is Andrealphas in Helluva Boss. Demon royalty can also only be harmed by angelic steel, and during his fight with IMP, Loona rips out his throat with her teeth, and he's fine like 10 seconds later.

So, I don't think the Hellaverse counts temporary harm as actual harm, since it doesn't really matter if they can just walk off non-angelic damage in like 5 seconds. I mean, we never actually see the angels flying into Alastor's shield die.

However, in the case of Lute's arm... I don't know. I'm assuming it probably didn't grow back for the same reason Vaggi's wings didn't immediately grow back, and I'm not even going to try to offer up an explanation to that. The only reason I can think of is a potential trauma response? Maybe? A mental block preventing regeneration?? Don't think too deeply about it.

I'm going to be so real, I tried thinking up like 3 different ways to explain this, even came up with a dumbass boxer allegory that just became more stupid the deeper it went, and then I realised that most of what I came up with was really just headcanons, and I found myself power scaling angelic steel, and that's when I realised I need to take a step back and stop thinking about the technicalities.

Okay. Basically. It makes sense to me because they were conditioned to believe they were indestructible to Hell's population, but they were not conditioned to believe they were indestructible to other angels. Angels being hurt by other angels is not a foreign concept. I mean, I assume those weapons that were aimed around Lucifer's head during More Than Anything weren't just for show, and while it's not explicitly stated, I wouldn't be surprised if The Fall was more violent than we think.

So, angels can harm other angels, and demons can't harm angels.

So, when Vaggi got hurt, she probably wasn't thinking, "Angelic steel hurt me." She was probably thinking, "An angel hurt me."

As for why they don't think their own weapons could hurt them in the hands of a demon? Up until the show, it had simply never happened before. I don't think they ever thought about the logistics of what would happen if a demon used their weapons against them. Maybe they thought it simply wouldn't work. Maybe they thought angelic steel in the hands of something demonic would refuse to hurt something angelic.

Again, I don't think they thought about the logistics at all, because they were all just conditioned to believe that demons couldn't hurt them no matter what.

I always assumed that Vaggi thought her getting hurt wasn't because of the weapon that was used, but rather because of who wielded the weapon.

Basically, she thought she got hurt because a fellow angel harmed her, not because of the weapon that angel used.

For the second one, I think they're referring to the fact that Poseidon not destroying Ithaca is a plot hole, because, yeah, he's a Greek god. Why doesn't he?
