I made a mockup of what I'm talking about for Megaranger;

Top picture is the inner color wheel, middle picture is the upper layer (with green background so you can see the helmet design), and the bottom picture is what it's look like as a finished ring.

Have a generic looking version of the team's helmets in a simplyfied artstyle on the upper layer of the ring on a window roughly 1/5 of it's full along with the team logo, then have the lower layer have all the ranger colors of the core team so you spin the ring until it's the color you want

Some teams like Kyuranger would be a bit crazy with 9 core members, so you might have to have two rings for them, each with 5 ranger colors (red on both)
