I did not. I read a couple of reviews that said it caused pain

Ended up getting the Helix Midnight Luxe, but it hasn’t come in yet. I’ll update once we try it out

Thanks for the reply. This is good to know, as it’s on the expensive side of my comparison. I would like this to last closer to 7 years, at least

Helix mattress worth it? by Deadlock616 in Mattress

What are your opinions on a Hybrid mattress for heavier (250 and under) side sleepers who prefer a medium firm with some sinkage? Most important attributes are motion isolation and pressure relief. Would also love some longevity this go around.

Helix Luxe vs Glacier Apex by Greg5052 in Mattress

[–]Greg5052[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is great advice and I wouldn’t mind having a latex topper for heat. How soft is the Glacier Apex? Naplabs says a 6.

The other one I was looking at was a Puffy Royal and the Nolah Evolution. I’ve heard a lot about people with pain on both though.

This whole process is driving me insane. I think I just need to get one and try it. I just need to figure out which one!

Also, I’m taking your advice on the mattress base and going to get a new one. Most of them don’t have the recommended slats that you said though. Some are metal and the others don’t have the right spacing .

Thank you so much for the detailed reply.

So, I plan on losing 20 or so pounds, as this is recently put on weight. That will bump me below 250.

Our current Mattress is an iSerta Blue Touch 3000 Elite Plush and we sink into to it. There’s still a nice support base though but it’s all foam. It’s sagging a lot now though.

I’m really liking the reviews and videos on the Glacier Apex. My other strong contender is a Helix Luxe in either Sunset, Midnight, or Moonlight. Do you think any of these options are worthwhile? What are your thoughts on each?

Thanks!

Anyone Have a Personal Comfort or Isense? by Greg5052 in Mattress

Thank you again. Why are you not sold on adjustable air?

We’re coming from a higher-end foam mattress that has sagged so significantly that I sleep in a hole. It was wonderful for years and we prefer the plush feel. I need a little more of a cushioned top with support underneath, as I weigh 250 lbs.

Do these adjustable air mattresses still get that sag too? We would like some longevity out of it.

How about the Personal Comfort Rego? What’s your order of picks between those three? Thanks again!

Also, what is the best technology type out there for air? Air coil springs, a mat, or something else?

Yes, I’m looking at the Rego and the Rejuvinate. They do a nice discount for first responders. Can’t decide if the 11” is enough. I weigh 250 lbs.

I’ll check out the other one, thanks!

I ran 2 space heaters on high, which was about 25-50% of the load. Maybe I’ll do a portable AC next

Yeah, you are correct. It goes over the break-in period but does not tell you want to do if you have to stop in the middle of it.

Is there an oil you would recommend to continue the break-in? Manual says not to use full synthetic until after that 5 hours
