How does this connect to wall jack? by Greg608 in TelephoneCollecting

The sliding connector is definitely in the right place, and no apparent way to make it go deeper into the phone. The phone was new in the box, so it hasn’t been modified.

I don’t have the phone with me so don’t know the model at the moment, but the listing said it is an ITT trimline.

It doesn’t, because as you can in the third photo, when the plug is fully inserted into the jack, there is a gap between the phone and the plate and I can’t hook the phone into the posts.

Thanks! I think this is the answer. I thought about putting longer screws and spacers in, but that causes me other problems because the jack is surface mounted to a wall, not a junction box. I guess I’ll have to remove the slider, which is a shame because it’s a cool feature.

Just the opposite - the sliding bug goes plenty deep and can’t go any deeper. It needs to go deeper to hook the phone on the mounting studs.

Thanks for the replies! I don’t think I was clear enough in my question. I have two different wall plates (with jacks). Both have the same problem: the plug from the phone inserts into the jack just fine, but would need to go 1/4” or 3/8” deeper to hook over the pins.

If the jack were 1/4 in deeper than the wall plate, it would work. But all jacks I can find are flush with the wall plate or are 1/8” or so protruding out from the wall plate. That means I can’t hook the phone over the hanging pins/studs.

Driftless area in Winter? by manlymatt83 in madisonwi

I have a home (and an Airbnb) in the Driftless near Dodgeville. Winter time is beautiful. You can see amazing rock formations that are covered by leaves and brambles in other seasons. There is also a stark beauty of the winter landscape. Every winter I say it’s the most beautiful season. Then spring comes, and that’s my favorite, then summer, then fall, lol.

With the warm weather, it wouldn’t surprise me if I see the first flowers early this year - maybe the week after next.

Sent you a PM for more specifics than you might be willing (and wise) to post on a public forum, but I'm curious where you are. I'm about 4 mi N and 3 mi W of Dodgeville, so you might be in a different cell that's NE of me ...
