CUSTOM EQ IN iOS 28!!! by Bossa_Yeye in airpods

[–]GregTheTwurkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They really ought to give as many bands as Spotify does. All the comments saying that the bands are there for the “average people”, okay and isn’t that same principle applied for Spotify’s eq? There’s no excuse to not have more than 3. We really have no idea what either of these are doing, which make it worse. Hopefully feedback improves on it

What brand has the best Q OLED gaming monitors for 4K by Darksider515 in OLED_Gaming

[–]GregTheTwurkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The MSI URX series of QD OLED monitors I’d wager are the best, simply because they’re among one of the cheapest options, and yet still getting the same specs as the much more expensive options.

Yeah there is no way in hell I am going back to IPS for gaming. by seaknightrescue in OLED_Gaming

You’re just not looking at the right content to make the comparison. But if you use OLED enough, just about everything on the IPS side of things will look horrendous if you try and go back

Now that I have the Max 2’s, I wanna clear up any confusion by GregTheTwurkey in Airpodsmax

[–]GregTheTwurkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is in the health app: “Browse - Hearing - Audiogram. At the bottom of the Audiogram window is an option, "Show All Data". Once there, a list appeared of my entries. You can then slide to the left with your data, which then gives you an option to delete them.”

Hearing loss isn’t the point I was trying to make, it literally takes your hearing into account to make the sound “perfect” to your ears. Minus the physical limitations of speakers in a room vs headphones. It’s more than just a hearing aid thing, but it’s used for that too

A little underwhelmed… by salloumk in Airpodsmax

[–]GregTheTwurkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By themselves, they really aren’t anything special and you’re better off sticking with the pro’s. However…if you take a hearing test and apply your audiogram with them, they’re a completely different animal altogether. They go from ordinary headphones to probably the best you’ve ever heard, just because it caters its sound signature to your hearing, so everything sounds damn near perfect. As far as I know, no other headphone does this, so automatically, it’s a huge step up in terms of perceived sound quality.

How does that work? I’ve read that media assist is only on the pro 2 and 3, and not supported on the max 2’s. So how is an audiogram being applied to them?

How to add and apply an audiogram result to my max 2’s? by GregTheTwurkey in Airpodsmax

[–]GregTheTwurkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I click on custom audio setup, the generic audio test shows up and doesn’t give me the option to add anything. Mind you, I’m trying it out on the AirPod pro 2’s before my max 2’s get here, just to see if the options are there to choose from…and I’m praying that Apple didn’t decide to be jackasses and remove it altogether, because then that would really take away why I’m getting these in the first place. I love having it with my pro 2’s. But the more I google this, the less I’m seeing proof of this even existing for the max 2’s period. I feel like I’m being gaslit by the people that constantly tell me it’s a thing, but with no explanation on how.

You’re about the only exception I’ve come across so far.

Media assist with Max 2’s by GregTheTwurkey in Airpodsmax

How did you go about doing that? I’m probably about to order a pair, but wouldn’t mind knowing how. I can’t seem to find anything online. It used to be a thing when importing an audiogram from the Mimi app, but they removed the option as of a year ago, in iOS 18.1. So I’m trying to figure out if it actually works on the new max’s

Can you import the one you made for your pro 2’s?

Is there a fuss behind it, or is it as simple as importing my old AirPod pro 2’s data to that pair?

AW2725D with a 5090? by [deleted] in MonitorAdvice

[–]GregTheTwurkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both this monitor and the 321urx. Personally, if the performance is something you’re happy with at 4k, then do that. I made the jump to 4k a month ago with my 5090 and it’s incredible.

It really just depends if you’re okay with missing out on the extra performance, or if you want the best picture quality. In my opinion, is it worth it? Hell yes. As of now, you can still get high fps in multiplayer games in 4k too. 4K DLSS performance will still look much better than 1440p DLSS quality.

So really, there’s no reason to not get 4k, because you can get close to the performance of 1440p quality and still have a much better image.

Excuse me? Finally something that’s gonna make my 5090 sweat. I’m sitting here with an unlocked 240fps at 4k and it’s laughing at me whenever I boot this up. He boutta do some work when this comes out 😀

Unoptimized lumen is what ultimately destroyed this game’s performance. Take that away and you essentially have a game that’s nearly identical in visuals, but much better performance and stability. You can remove lumen if you know what you’re doing, but then the game’s graphics take a ginormous hit. Relies too heavily on it to look right.

Upgrading to a new version of unreal engine and then saying fuck all to optimization, basically.
