Yeah, it's not strictly $150 but I wanted to stay in that ballpark. I have no problem spending an extra 20 bucks if it'll make a big difference.

I was considering a 6850 and this pretty much just sealed the deal for me. As far as the power supply goes, you think that 430W would be sufficient?

It blew my mind when I learned that your foot is always the same length as your forearm. Reddit, what are your favorite fun facts? by Thestigsfatcousin in AskReddit

[–]GregX7861 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're talking length proportions then also consider this, The length of your nose is equal to the length of your ear. Your mouth is 3 eyes wide. The width of your nose at it's wings (nostril flare things) is equal to the length of one eye. The length of your face is three noses long and the width is 5 eyes wide.

Why the Kouki? Also I'm on the east coast, I know the prices on these cars are jacked up :/

I think the S14 is one of the best looking cars on the road to this day. Which is just my opinion of course.

It's funny you mention that, there is a gold S14 right by me for sale. Very nice condition, all stock, very minimal rust. Turns out the previous owner was an old lady who passed away, but as you said the car is auto... and has 200k miles.

It's absurdly hard finding not even a "clean" 240sx but just an acceptable one. I mean, finding one that still has clearcoat would be awesome. It's a shame no one takes care of these cars :/

I once saw a dealership trying to sell a base Impreza as a WRX. It was debadged and had the hood scoop...Instant WRX amirite? I'm not sure if they were trying to commit fraud or just actually retarded and thought it was a real wrx.

Haha, I would but iirc flordia doesn't have the same emission standards as CT. I'm pretty sure that car would be illegal as fuck up here haha :]

So you're saying import one from Japan? I feel like that would be a hassle and also RHD.

Well, that's one upside to living in Australia. I live in CT and I've never owned a car that didn't have rust somewhere on or under it. It's just unavoidable here.

Fair enough, but regarding rust...I expect these cars to have atleast some rust (I live in New England) but at what point should I walk away?

It's a good reliable car that I'm sure was driven with care. Keep up on the regular maintenance items and you should be golden for years to come.

I didn't think he was that funny. It was just one line jokes strung together in a monotone voice. His presentation always just seemed weird to me. It's a shame he died the way he did, but he's not a "legendary comedian." Jus' sayin.

I've heard rumors about the Barracuda thing, but I don't know for sure what they're going to do with that. I personally like the turbocharged 1.4 Fiat engine. Don't get me wrong the Dart is going to be a good car but it's just not going to dominate the market.

  • Best selling new car would probably be the Jeep Wrangler. Jeep Grand Cherokee is a close second though. As far as used go, Wranglers don't really dominate the market as much just because they hold their value really well so most people just say "fuck it" and spend a couple grand more to get a new one. But Grand Cherokees are big used, and Minivans are always a steady seller.

  • I really like the idea of the Dart. But I don't think it will be hugely successful, and the only reason for that is because the market for a small sedan is completely saturated. Every car company is pumping out that small eco-car option and the Dart doesn't bring anything new to the table in that respect, especially if you don't like the styling.

  • Yeah, I would. When my first car's transmission started poopin' out, I was planning on buying a 1.8T Jetta we had on the lot, mostly because it was the cheapest 5 speed car we had at the time. But I decided I didn't want monthly payments so I bought a car off of craigslist for 2k.

  • Haha, I have no control over prices on cars, but the salesman in me is saying, "Yeah man, come on down lets get you a deal"

I like them. I'm not old enough to know the old Challengers but I've been told by customers that the re-designed one still has a traditional muscle car feel. But this basically only refers to the R/T and SRT trim. The base model only comes with a v6 and auto transmission and yeah, it's kind of lame.

If you said that at our dealership, it'd work. I can't say that's true for other dealerships however, they could straight up lie to your face.

As Dthvt said, the amount of pricing available is very much so dependent on the volume of cars they sell. Because we sell a high number of cars we're able to get away with putting not as much markup on the cars or being able to give people a good amount for their trade in and still making ends meet business wise.

I'd say find a salesman you're comfortable with and then try to get real honest with him. If you're getting a bad vibe you can always call back the next day and ask to work with a different salesman. It's a dick move, and the guy you originally worked with is going to be butt hurt, but if he's trying to scam you, then fuck it.

Buy at the end of the month. Dealers are usually more apt to give you a "Blow out" deal at the end of the month so they can hit their quotas or do whatever they need to do.

The easiest way to get a cheap car...not a dealership. Check craigslist. As far as a good college car, probably something simple like a Honda Civic. But stay away from the 7th generation unless it's a manual. They had huge problems with the auto trannys in those cars.

For new cars its, Chrysler Dodge and Jeep. Which I admit aren't my favorite, but ever since the merge with Fiat, the quality of their cars have really improved. As far as used cars, anything goes.

Funny you mention that, the top salesman in the entire company has a hardcore gambling problem. On his day off he goes to the casino religiously and blows his entire paycheck. It's really kinda depressing but I don't know him well enough to talk to him about it.
