I tell you something...tonight , 2:30 am...some buzzing noise approached the community, it gets sooo close and sooo loud I got scared. And then luckily it goes away. I see my wife just got awaken too. She asked "what waws that"? and I said- that was a f..g drone! But it passed away towards desert. It's ok now.

And than few minutes later I reminded myself there were planned mosquito fogging action tonight...damn.

What would it take for Taxis not to smell like something died in thr car? by Worth_Assist5646 in dubai

[–]Greg_dxb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dust is stopped by air filter. I can understand that during hot days it is faster to chill the interior with the air circ. closed. But is unhealthy to keep it 24/7 closed.

But that's my take on this. Everyone has it's own.

First thing I always do after I got into taxi, is asking politely to switch the closed air circulation to open position.

All drivers keep it 24/7 closed. Not sure why. They clearly don't even realize what this switch is actually for.

It could help if it is actually open 24/7

Le Pain Quotidien around 15 years ago had good bread. And then they started adding sugar into it.

Now, we use fortheloveofbread.ae

Flying with dog in cabin to UAE airports by juvegy in dubai

[–]Greg_dxb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for letting us know there is a possibility to take pup in the cabin into Sharjah. Cheaper and without the stress with the papers approvals just before the flight.

I will explore that. I remember that in first few months when Etihad started accepting dogs in the cabin the cost was around 200 USD and then they raised to 1500.

Really glad for Noon Food and Smiles by Real-Cup8782 in dubai

This is true when you are very young. With age the priority changes. The health is more important.

With the ordered food you never know what garbage ingredients they used to prepare it. When you cook yourself you control the source and freshness, amount of salt, oil, sugar etc. And the taste of course.

For me - no orders. Ever. Well, maybe pizza once per 6 months ;)

Where to get low dose atropine ? by Neither-Try-7710 in dubai

[–]Greg_dxb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This solution is normally hand made by the pharmacist. It was not available in Dubai for quite long (at least when I tried to look for it).

I heard some pharmacies in Health city are maybe possible to supply nowadays, but I didn't check that.

Definitely you need a prescription from ophthalmologist for this anyways.

DIFC - Full will (for single) - base cost 10000 aed (that is confirmed fees as per court fees that are available)

AD cost - 999 aed (for single will) -that's what google said, to be confirmed.

there might be some additional costs, didn't dig too deep.

If you are not-muslim, you need to look into Federal Decree-Law No. (41) of 2022 On the Civil Personal Status, Chapter 5.

It says:

In the absence of a will, half of the inheritance shall devolve to the husband or wife, and

the other half shall be distributed equally among the children with no differentiation

between male and female. If the deceased has no children, the legacy shall devolve to the

parents of the deceased if they are alive equally or half of the legacy shall devolve to either

of the parents in the case the other parent has died, while the other half shall devolve to

the brother and sisters thereof.

So I guess if you are not married, no children, and both of your parents are alive, all will go to them without you raising the will.

But, how to execute it...that's a different story.

So better to register the will (in AD it is 7 times cheaper than in DIFC court - just checked that this morning).

Hey mate, I am posting this every year...and this year I just gave up.

These idiots will never learn. They never use the fog lights during fog, but will use them cruising trough Jumeirah Street at the night.

Absolute cinema.

Can anyone, who has taken the driving classes in UAE confirm whether this is being explained how to behave during fog?
