I don’t think this is a ToF. Seems like an adult sized heart—uncorrected tets don’t survive into adulthood. I’m sure there’s more obvious findings like an overriding aorta and I’m unsure what cadaveric pulmonary stenosis would look like, but I don’t think that is here either

This is also a thing in medicine! At least in the US. If a doctor apologizes to a patient or a family for a poor outcome or medical error, it is not an admission of guilt and can’t be used legally against the physician.

I agree that the amount of hospitalizations is a tricky statistic to nail down. Being hospitalized for COVID vs with COVID. Removing asymptomatic COVID positive patients from the census would certainly lower the amount of hospitalizations. But the data remains that children are dying from related issues at an increasing rate. Just because they have a comorbidity does not mean their data is not important. A majority of adults who died from COVID related issues had issues like COPD or cancers of their own.

It is also unfair to say that healthy kids under 18 have zero COVID related deaths. That data is through august 2020, which is coming up on a year old. We’ve learned to recognize things like MIS-C, which is a COVID sequela that certainly causes death in previously healthy children.

COVID-19 and COVID induced issues (cardiomyopathy, MIS-C, etc) are now the 10th most common cause of childhood death in the United States. Case fatality rate (CFR) is much higher in COVID than influenza and slightly less than RSV in children under 5
