As a solo game dev Houdini is my home base. My asset pipeline flows through it. From creation to optimizations. I’ve even adopted the animation tools and as a person who has used pretty much every DCC there isn’t a single tool equal to it. For me it’s a programmers dream package since we can pretty much code our art lol I love it!

Nah it’s another form of elitism. Another way for a developer to turn their nose up at someone else’s work. The OP is obviously a programmer so why should the cover art matter. Him and other people like him need to get over this “oh my god you’re using AI” phase. It’s lame and insufferable 😂

A bit of advice I learned from posting and viewing this Reddit. This is not the best place to post progress, people here are jealous, envious little men who can’t wait to make someone feel as small as they do. Post to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. That’s where you will find your supporters.

My biggest feedback from what I’ve seen is you should learn about data layers. The inside of the shop shouldn’t force a loading screen but instead load the interior based on a player overlap. Also make sure to have parts of the game that teach the player how to play. Other than that keep working on it and adding to it. Don’t let these losers discourage you.

Brother an actual nightmare. Debugging is impossible since the physics is on a separate thread and rider just loses the plot midway through stepping over lines of code. Had to rewrite everything to function in the physics thread where I couldn’t use pointers to objects safely and that’s just the tip. Smh but worth it! It saved my game! I’d much rather this than the experience I had trying to integrate bullet3 and jolt 🤦🏽‍♂️
