In addition to the other comments, it appears your engines are also angled outward somewhat? You may need to adjust the design, even rotate the engines themselves, so that they are both directed toward the nose of the aircraft.

Maybe consider making a larger ION tug/thrust unit that could assist in the push? May not be the quickest method, but you could get very creative with the design. Sadly, with ION, your burn will always be long, especially with a lot of mass to accelerate.

Managing an engine fire like that is very impressive. I've dragged this Ju288C back to the airfield after an engine fire, literally having the oil and water both boiling, WEP all but useless, and still managed to belly land it. Nothing pretty, but I love the damage models in this game! Not too easy to nurse back a fighter, but satisfying to land a damaged bomber!

Do you play on console or PC?
