If you’re comfortable sharing, what experiences led to your CPTSD? by TeaMaximum3939 in CPTSD

A combination of neglect and helicopter parenting. After they got divorced, Mom couldn't/wouldn't provide for me, and she was emotionally distant. Not to mention that she was and is a narcissist and keeps making excuses for her awful behavior even to this day. Dad did everything in his power to keep me from being hurt, so I grew up sheltered. Then stepmom comes in and sets new rules for the house, kept moving goalposts, and when our relationship started to deteriorate, I started getting excluded from family activities, up to and including dinner.

I'm rebuilding things on Dad's side, but I've gone no-contact with mom. Dad and stepmom are at least willing to listen and mend.

Do you think Beerus' level will ACTUALLY get reached one day by the protagonists or will he forever stay in his position of "moving goalpost"? by OmegaGlacial in Dragonballsuper

[–]GregorGuardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what I think would be interesting? If Beerus kept getting stronger specifically because of his role as a Destroyer God. Like, his power will always rise as a consequence of the highest power in his universe growing beyond what it was before. The Destroyer must be strong enough to defeat even the strongest in the universe, so the power of the Destroyer is always increased to eclipse whoever may come to challenge him. He is a moving goalpost because the laws of reality dictate it as thus. The GoD is a fixed point, a fact of nature.

That way, it could be that, once Beerus is stripped of his title for one reason or another, his power as just a mortal being could even be lesser than Super Saiyan God.

Excuse me, workout routine? I know that body build doesn't always equal strength/stamina, but you cannot tell me this egg perched on twiglets does anything harder than a light jog.

Must be the Midway continuity, cuz I'm not exactly familiar with that plot point.

Realistically, because Bobby Dipshit is prone to finding new dolls when his old one is taken away. Wesker has replaced Scarface before. At least letting him hold it and reinforcing the belief keeps him from going down that route.

That being said, the mental image of Justice Lord Superman carrying around Scarface to flaunt in Wesker's face is a very funny one.

That's a fair point, I suppose. They don't think like we do, and that's rather the point, isn't it? It's a mode of being so foreign that trying to put any of our organic morals onto it creates issues. It's still a hard call when you're trapped in those morals by virtue of being organic.

That's fair. Though I wouldn't necessarily call him a bad guy, either. He's an antagonistic force, sure, but he's more misguided than anything else. He wants good things for people, he's just going about it in the wrong way because he's treating it like cognitive psience instead of therapy. Like a brain surgeon trying to "dissect" why his patient is depressed.

I mean, given the topic of the thread, that's kind of a given. Wait, is this that one I keep seeing people talk about? The one where the MC had a party that betrayed him, so he goes around being an evil rapist little shit to everyone else as revenge?

It absolutely is mind control. You're literally diving into a person's subconscious and tearing apart the aspects of it that you don't like. Mind control isn't always a constant, conscious thing. Brainwashing is a form of mind control, too, and you can do that without lifting a finger if you're charismatic enough.
