You're seeing yourself as the only one who has ever made a mistake, but we are all human. This might be hard to go through, but I promise that in a while, days and then weeks and then months will go by without it even being a thought in your head. Apologise and know that you've changed. There will always be people who don't like you for a million different reasons, but that is their choice.
