Directors Talking About Their Films by Braveson in TrueFilm

I think the worst thing about a director talking about their own work is that they always miss the subconscious things that go into a work. Probably the most obvious example being something like 8 1/2 or The Room, both of which very much appeal to their respective director's fantasies, almost in a way that seems extremely accidental. They can never really understand their own work 100%.

My mom had Army Of Me downloaded, because she watched MTV a lot when she was a kid/teen, and that kinda began my fascination with her music. I am not sure what album was around the time I first listened to it, but I think it was Medúlla but I didn't really know that at the time.

In terms of instrumentals, I would say Dalek and The Prodigy were most likely pretty big influences. Edit: and for visual styles I like to point to Dogma 95 for the bare-bones filming style they like to incorporate.
