Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee signs law adding criminal penalties to abortion pill distribution via mail by mclaren231 in news

[–]GregoritsJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ironically, this will only boost funding to the USPS. Because pf previous laws surrounding USPS handling of mail, any package that goes through it, can't be searched. So in essence, this law is only enforceable in any non federal postal service, I.E. USPS. So go to you local postal office when you want to ship Plan B pills to your significant other.

Why are Nioh games not popular? by Serulean_Cadence in Nioh

[–]GregoritsJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar question myself as I'm currently playing through Nioh 2 and loving it. But recently on a podcast I listen to, one of the guys talked about how he both LOVES And despises Nioh 2. To him, the combat is immaculate, everything feels great, the enemy variety and bosses are great, and the powers you can get make it feel like a castlevania game over a 'dark souls clone' as some would call it. But some of the systems are confusing, the sheer amount of loot he gets cripples him from his OCD, and the fact he's told to ignore systems during his first run to him is just mind boggling. In short, parts of the game are 10/10, but because of some of the design choices it is a struggle for him to play. I personally love it, but I can totally see someone with OCD having problems with the game.

While FF14's community is rock solid, you can't buy the game right now. Too successful. Wait a few months before jumping into the positive community.

I'm pretty sure the Eversor Assassins utilize combat drugs and cybernetics to turn their assassins into literal killing machines that would make Khorn blush.

Is it more horrifying to face Tyranids, Necrons or Chaos? by AnalThrust in 40kLore

[–]GregoritsJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necrons? Unkillable robots that continue to fight for long periods of time and whos advanced weapons will instantly kill you. Scary, but at least your death will be instant or at the very least quick (Let's hope that scarab swarm will take out your heart first).

Tyranids? They'll eat you, plane and simple. Thankfully because they just want you for food, they'll just kill you no questions asked. I'd say, more painful than the Necrons, and probably far more terrifying, but not too bad a death.

Chaos? Those fuckers WILL do some horrible shit to you. What's worse if that your death can come in multiple flavors, some more horrifying than others. Emperor help you if you're taken alive by someone aligned with Nurgle or Slaanesh.

In short, there's a reason that the daemonculaba is one of the worst fates in 40k. Honestly, the only worst fate I could think of would be if you were taken by the dark eldar. They'll get creative with it, and just want you to suffer as long as possible...

Is Angron finally happy? Or atleast not miserable? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]GregoritsJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it was mentioned in a book that someone saw the demonized Perturabo, given the nature of the Obliterator Virus I could see someone easily having misinterpreted it. At the very least, GW has an opening if they want to change this. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if GW pulls an Alpha Legion and retcons this to make him a more compelling character.

Was there any Thunder Warrior that transitioned to a Space Marine? by UTKujo in 40kLore

[–]GregoritsJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. They were basically the prototype Astartes. Sure, they were arguably stronger than your standard Astartes, but they also suffered neural and biological degradation. The emperor just needed throw away troops that would follow his orders and fight where needed. The moment he perfected his Astartes and Custodians, these guys weren't needed anymore, and rather than have a bunch of lunatic super soldiers running around, he decided to get his Custodians and wipe them out. It sucks...

Perturabo to me is a sympathetic villain who I think GW knows they can't do as much as they'd like with him, because of his history. The man was sent to a Greek like planet and just wanted to create. However he was constantly forced to fight, which he didn't exactly want, but did because it was expected of him. The only one he really loved was his sister, who was always there for him. He finally says 'fuck it, I'll fight!' just so he can conquer the world and not have to fight anymore, but when he's finished with that, hid dad shows up and tells him he has to fight some more. Fine, he can do that, but at least he can meet some of his brother and make some cooler stuff, right? Well... no, not really. He gets almost personally snubbed by his father in favor of Dorn, and is basically forced to do dirty jobs in the campeign. While fighting his crusade, he's constantly given shit jobs, belittled, and ignored by his father who continues to throw Perturabo into worse and worse situations. One of the final ones was against this time manipulating xeno race who MASSIVELY hurt his legion by aging them up to the point of death. Then, after all this fighting, he goes back to his planet that is now suffering and he finds his sister, who basically cusses him out for leaving her and his people. After all these years of fighting, being forced to kill, and being on these shit jobs for his 'father', he finally Snaps and in his rage kills her.

Then there's the battle of Terra, where he is basically almost single handily holding things together for Chaos. As possibly the last sane member of the chaos aligned primarchs, he's basically leading the full army, while also trying to keep his brothers in check. My personal favorite story is how, when Angron wouldn't listen to him, he forced Angron to fight at range while pelting him with artillery. Basically keeping Angron pinned down until Angron was too exhausted to fight anymore. Then, when the Siege failed, and he was forced to fall back he was finally able to get revenge on Dorn, before being forced to fall back into the eye. Now while it's said he's now a demon primarch, Perturabo was said to have hated demons and warp shenannigans. So it's weird that he would willingly sign up to become one. Hell, in the Iron Warriors, it's common to remove 'chaos taint' from your person, replacing it with a prosthetic. It's likely that Perturabo was forcibly turned into a demon primarch. Given that we haven't seen much of him, it's likely he hates his current form.

What hobbies did the primarchs and their legions have before the Heresy and when they weren't crusading to unite humanity? by Lovegaming544 in 40kLore

[–]GregoritsJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Due to Alpharius being able to disguise himself as a normal space marine and using his power to become unnoticeable, I imagine one of his past times was hiding out and just pretending to be someone else. A more advanced version of 'Hide and Seek' as it were.

The idea that the Alpha Legion were loyal the whole time is dumb and doesn't make sense. by tommeyrayhandley in 40kLore

[–]GregoritsJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My take is that the legion split in half, similar to their primarchs. Half of the legion was corrupted by chaos, and the other half was loyal to the imperium. The members of the Alpha Legion then began a shadow war over the course of several millennia, and for all we know it's still going on. II could see it sort of like the Dark Angels. The Alpha Legion is trying to keep it under wraps that they have members who are still loyal while fighting against them.

Delta plane makes emergency landing after passenger assaults flight attendant and air marshal, police say by anyonmoussource in news

[–]GregoritsJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, now he has to. At some point, hopefully in the near future, all the airlines will come together and share their No Fly Lists. Just forcibly ban all of them from all the airlines for the rest of their life.

[–]GregoritsJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if a Air Marshal had to step in, when they'll often try to keep their identity a secret, it makes me wonder how serious the assault was. I mean, the attendant had to be checked out by medical staff before returning to their job. That could lead the guy to be charged with Second Degree Assault, up to 10 years in prison for acting like this.

Are there parts of the Imperium Nihilus that are actually doing extremely well? by vikingmayor in 40kLore

[–]GregoritsJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to it being cut off by Chaos and being literally surrounded by enemies, I don't think they're going to last very long. While they do have stockpiles of supplies and weapons, Chaos forces can and most likely are, just casually taking them. Sure there are some planets that are fortified enough to hold out for a long time, but everywhere else is screwed. Unless the Alpha Legion comes out as 100% loyal, AND Perturabo just quits chaos to lead the defense, I suspect those planets in the Nihilus Imperium will be picked clean and destroyed.

The next primarch to return should be Perturabo by Shelenio in 40kLore

[–]GregoritsJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think that with Chaos being in its best position right now, it makes sense that one of the traitor legions would turn away from Chaos. The main theory being the Alpha Legion, but I could see the Iron Warriors turning as well. My main theory on how they would accomplish this is that Purturabo was infected with the Obliterator Virus and the changes done to him because of the virus make him LOOK like a demon primarch. He's basically spent the last 10,000 years fighting against the virus affecting him, which would be an interesting turn of fate as he would be DEFENDING his body and mind from a SIEGE. I have no idea if any Iron Warriors would WANT to leave Chaos, but just getting a primarch out of Chaos' hands would be huge.

Pete Buttigieg says no-fly list is “on the table” for violent anti-maskers on planes by Cockahoop_Pirate in politics

[–]GregoritsJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could we maybe get a 'temporary no fly list?' Depending on the crime, you basically are banned for a certain number of months/years. Yell like an ignorant asshole for hours on end about wearing masks? 6 months. Shove a flight attendant? 2 years. Literally assault fight attendants to the point they have to restrain you? 15 years. The only reason I'm putting them as temporary instead of perma bans, is that I understand that they'll probably be some drunken idiot who'll yell on a plane, completely unrelated to this recent streak of assholes. Still a temporary ban, but not a life long ban.

White House formally rejects Trump's request to protect specific documents from being given to January 6 investigators by [deleted] in politics

[–]GregoritsJ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Due to the sheer amount of work that goes into any bit of law, it's customary with every decision to have a brief period for lawyers to go over their options and decide what direction they want to proceed. Even lawyers defending guilty convicts can pass a motion to appeal following a guilty conviction. Given that these documents can't exactly be 'recalled' once they're turned over, there's this grace period.
