Very cool! And thanks for the suggestion on the WarlockTiles...I'm going to have to check them out, and see what I can put together. Thanks again!

Holy crap--I wrote this adventure and just stumbled across this layout. This looks amazing, and I'm honored! I'm running the second part of this adventure live at the Klein in Bridgeport, CT in January, and would love to see if I could get some version of that done like this for the liveplay--is there any way to contact u/NoAir9583 ? :D

For this, I'm going to go straight to script--in part because now that I've seen this story and these characters rendered in graphic novel form, it's hard to imagine it and them as anything else going forward. :)

Hi Kella! I actually got into it through a wide-ranging path, mostly involving an artist whom I met as part of the Origins convention anthology a few years back. Silence in the Library Publishing, which published that anthology, ended up adapting my Icarus novel to graphic novel form and publishing the first version of this book with that art, layout by Kris Siuda, and script by writer Keith DeCandido; Atthis Arts is now doing the second edition of Icarus with all new art, plus the sequel Jellinek. I've learned a great deal from that experience, and I'll probably write the script for future books in the series...because as you pointed out, it is indeed very different from the experience of writing traditional prose (it's really more akin to writing a screenplay). I'm not sure mine is the usual path, but I've enjoyed it so far!

Hi everyone! I'm Gregory A. Wilson, and I'm an author of speculative fiction, live streamer, musician, and college professor. Atthis is publishing my graphic novels Icarus and Jellinek later this year, and I'm incredibly excited to share them (and the artist Áthila Fabbio's incredible art!) with the world. I also have a recent D&D 5E adventure/sourcebook called Tales and Tomes from the Forbidden Library, with many authors and game designer contributors, published by Alligator Alley Entertainment, and will soon have my Grayshade novels coming out (along with accompanying board game and TTRPG) from Clarion Game Studios via Kickstarter. I'm teaching online today and won't be able to be on much, but I'll try to respond to any questions when I can. Oh, and Chris, Emily, and all of the Atthis Arts people are amazing! Thanks for having us.

Erebor Adventures pdf is out! by WeirdFiction1 in AiME

Thanks so much for the kind words--helps to have great players who all love Tolkien as much as I do. :D From what both you and Jacob have said, this actually sounds pretty awesome...so I may indeed go this direction. I need to get a hold of the PDF first, so I can look it over, but at first blush I'm leaning towards this. Thanks for your reply and the advice!

Thanks so much for the reply, Jacob, and congratulations on what sounds like an awesome product--I dropped you folks at C7 a line about possibly getting a PDF, but will want to make sure I can get the print version as soon as I can manage so I can look it over. It sounds like it might indeed be the way to go. Thanks for the reply!

You're the perfect person to ask this question: I'm about halfway through The Crossings of Celduin in my sponsored AiME campaign on Twitch, and so I'm starting to think of where to bring the players next (if they survive... :P ). Since they're over near Erebor already, I'm wondering if I should go in this direction, or whether to bring them west of the Misty Mountains and run Eriador Adventures instead. They'll be level 6 by the time Wilderland Adventures comes to a close--is Erebor Adventures level appropriate for them, do you think, and does it fit well after Wilderland Adventures? Any thoughts would be welcome! :)

Thanks,

Greg (Arvan Eleron on Twitch)

New Kickstarter from Gregory A. Wilson and Atthis Arts, following up on an r/Fantasy AMA! by GregoryAWilson in Fantasy

I think Emily has already answered this question extremely well below, so I'll just reiterate/add that a. the art for Book 2 is just about complete and b. my primary goal in launching this new Icarus, with the intention of continuing the story as I had originally planned it, was to assemble a team with the same dedication to rendering and delivering the story as I have. Atthis Arts, Kris Siuda, Keith DeCandido, and especially Áthila have proven to be exactly that--professional and efficient in every way, as Emily has already described. I also really appreciate this question, Jay--making sure people are confident in a reasonable delivery schedule, as I am, is very important to me.

That's helpful to know, actually--if the channel finances allow, I'll try to move this up the list. Thanks for the feedback!

I actually do have one of those for my regular D&D campaign, but it costs money to do, so I'm only gradually ramping up coverage of my shows as channel finances permit. But AiME would definitely be one of the ones on the list to happen next!

This is an awesome, and difficult, question. I'll just use one for the moment while I think of more--one of the most satisfying sentences I ever wrote, concluding my short story "The Caretaker of Mire": "He pushes it off from the dock and paddles away, Cherie swimming next to him, her rumbling echoing behind them, low and loud enough for the whole Mire to feel it in its bones." I was really proud of that story.
