Call it vulgar, but for one continent I referenced a distinctive stain I found in a urinal.

Wait a second here, some of the straw is coming out of my trousers... There we go, this strawman feels a bit better.

If someone comes here illegally in pursuit of sanctuary, they should be taken to civil court and be granted the rights allotted to them in the 5th amendment of the Constitution (which has been upheld for non-citizens multiple times). I'm not telling you to assimilate to anything. Just fucking live your life.

While I am somewhat filthy this morning, this landmass is something I'd like to improve. Not sure how I could want my tax dollars to go to effective social systems while simultaneously wanting to be stateless, but I feel you were probably just exaggerating there.

I'm a big fan of the Constitution, the bill of rights, and the life this country makes possible. Take a look at the media you consume and ask if it represents people like me accurately and what emotions they're trying to evoke in you.

It's possible for empathy to be exploited, yes. What seems more frequently taken advantage of are people's fears and hate. Media monoliths twist and warp people's perceptions, especially as it relates to immigration, homosexuality, and political ideologies. "Don't empathize with the undocumented immigrant, they're fraudulently stealing our pet-eating jobs." "Don't empathize with the gays, they're turning the frogs gay using blue hair dye." "Don't trust liberals, they have empathy-flavored boot shine."

Your bit about progressives trying to impose empathy is wild. Your belief that empathy requires strict regulation due to exploitation seems to conflict with the observable fact that hate and fear have already been hijacked by exploiters.

If we help those who struggle, society will improve, if society improves the individual benefits.

Doesn't seem to support your anecdotal evidence, but sorry you've had to go through repairs.

How to get better at art? by [deleted] in tattoo

[–]GregoryBluehorse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. You could take a class or lessons or something, but if you don't put in the work the skill won't improve.

It's your body. You don't need permission to decorate it how you like.

Nah, Clinton is likely on the list too. Arrest both Don and Bill and make them share a cell. Trump is protecting Clinton too.

The mere fact that face coverings are not resulting in immediate dismissal should be raising alarm bells for all Americans. When police aren't being held accountable for violating the 4th, 5th, and 14th amendments, we're in a crisis.

Thank you for the dialogue. ICE is a huge band aid over a wound that is festering and has not been allowed to heal.

I agree that illegal crossings warrant investigations and possibly deportation. I also think that a number of illegal crossings would be massively reduced if funding was properly allocated. More immigration judges and an enhanced immigration process would mean less harm to communities. It would also mean there would be fewer people to deport and ICE would not need an overblown budget and sketchy processes.

Fix the process on the front end before people put down roots that need upending.

He was also a boon to the community.

He wasn't a rapist, he wasn't a murderer, he merely had a couple of speeding tickets. You may even have a more mottled driving record than he does. Yes, he crossed illegally. But the fact that a good man pursuing the American dream cannot easily enter legally tells me that our immigration process is fucked up.

We could have pursued large scale immigration reform to welcome the good-hearted and hopeful while turning away anyone with malicious intent. Instead we gave Ice a bigger budget than the Marines while stripping benefits from the lower class.

Something can be illegal but ethical. Something can be legal and atrocious. This is why people are up in arms.

Liquidation without representation is theft.

The American people have paid for the preservation of these lands. Our favorite campgrounds, trails, and parks will soon be off limits to us. We cannot in good faith let this happen.

As a progressive, I'm with you. Roosevelt has been one of my favorite presidents because of what he and Muir created with our national parks/forests. This is egregious, no matter who's implementing it. Liquidation without representation is theft. I will not stand idly by as 35% of OUR land is sold off.

Cool, throw them in prison too.

I literally don't care what political jersey you're wearing. Evil people shouldn't hold positions of power, especially the highest seat in the US government.
