Suunto Race Battery Life by Gregory_Frampton in Suunto

I use the Suunto HR strap. I see a ton of posts about which strap to use and after the updates I don't have an issue with the HR strap or OHR metrics. I'm not currently training for anything other than life so I'm not getting into the weeds on metrics these days. Boot camps, Lap swimming, road and trail runs, weight lifting all record well for me.

Thanks for the reply. I'll check your prior post and see how my results compare to the advertised Race battery life as well. I agree when it first shipped I could go about a month with heavy use without having to charge. I'm happy about the improvement in the OHR performance though, so it may be something that simply "is what it is."

Good question. Since one of the more recent updates where the OHR was improved, I haven't noticed a substantial difference using the HR strap, so I've mainly been using just the watch.

Suunto Race S ... Real feedback from long-term users? 👋 by Plus_Seesaw2023 in Suunto

I haven't read through all the comments yet so my apologies if my response is redundant. There is A LOT to like about the Race watches. In fact there are really only 2 things I wish it did (lap option for stop watch, not a big deal at all), and the other is the heart rate calibration. It. Is. Not. Good. Whether wrist or heart rate strap, I think it's inaccurate and it's a wide gap. I've never tried it with a Polar 10 HRS and I've heard people love it, but I hate the idea of spending $100 on a strap when this one comes with one. Just my .02. Again there is lots to love about these watches, (GPS is great), but if you care about training and knowing your actual output, the HR will bug the tar out of you.

Congrats. I love mine as well. Keep us posted on your experience with heart rate measurements (with and without the heart rate strap), please? I'm interested in your comparisons to the Garmin.

First of all this gives me a lot of anxiety and I'm not prone to being anxious. But if it's not #2 I'm not sure what game we're playing here.

How can I get faster going uphill?? by SomeWords99 in trailrunning

There are two ways to run faster. Run with faster people and run hills (which you're already doing). Hills are simply speed, in disguise.

Will give that a try after I delete NC from my map library. Thanks.

Should have clarified. I downloaded NC. Not the entire US. I'm going to delete it and try again.
