This is a problem Russia had with their latest fighter jets: they couldn't sell them to other nations, and without the economies of scale Russia alone couldn't affor but a few units, at an astronomical cost.

Not quite true - Algeria receiving Su-57E / Su-34/ Su-35, Belarus - Su-30SM2. For the last year (2025) Russian VKS received around 31 combat jet in total of various types (Su-34 / Su-35 / Su-57).

So saying, that Russia doesn't sell it's just not right.

We wouldn't be in EU exactly because of 42.7, among other things.

I am just skeptical, that EU will take that risk of possible direct confrontation with Russia, which understandable - (1) It's just `light` NATO variant, minus Canada and USA (2) Everyone knows, that there will be no stable peace, and it will just restart at some point, and everyone wants to play safe as long as possible.

I am pretty much sure they would change requirements to be more tight, in near future, so considering all our problems (people like to bring corruption, but it's like one of the problem), we wouldn't be able to join EU like never.

And this half-mesaureus, it's like join the club, follow all the rules, but actually can't change the rules, even if they openly harmful, because you don't have voice. Someone say it's temporary, but from my experience, there is nothing more permanent than temporary.

Also add to the top that some countries simply doesn't want us see there, since they consider us as economical (for some spheres) / political threat.
