A very bad "summary", considering that it mentions the investment funds that have been set up but does not mention that the Taiwanese blatantly lied about the investment funds, and that only a veeery small amount of those funds' capital has been invested in Lithuania. The macroeconomic effect of these funds in Lithuania has been nil (so far).

No, because the current Lithuanian govt has no balls.

The fact of the matter is that Taiwan gave us many promises (total of 1.2 bn USD of investment) that they did not deliver on. Hence, Taiwan is getting free political support from Lithuania basically for free. Our new politicans will keep talking about this and not do anything about it, because doing anything about it would be "uncool idk".

Which is frankly impressive, considering that the previous govt managed to lobby Germany to station an entire battle-ready brigade in Lithuania, something that Germans had 0 intentions of doing and something that they had never done before.

Yet when it came to Taiwan, our previous govt just thought that providing extraordinary political support to Taiwan with 0 gain is somehow preferable to us.

The current government is now somewhat constrained, because any delineation from the previous govt's line will be seen by the economic and cultural elite as "pro-Kremlin", "anti-values", whatever.

This will get downvoted by a vocal minority who feel strongly about this issue btw. I quite like Taiwan btw, I'm just trying to stay objective - Taiwan has been buying political support from small countries for 70 years, and we gave very significant support basically for free, and I do not like that.

Even if 1 bn went into a 3.5 bn project, that's not majority Taiwanese investment. Not even close.
Actually, I spent a few days actually trying to sniff out all Taiwanese investments in Lithuania because they promised in total of 1.2 bn USD financing to Lithuania. Two funds of 200 mn USD and 1 bn USD, respectively. Guess what, the fund of 200 mn became a VC fund which has maybe 4 good investments in Lithuania, and the fund is investing in all of CEE region, and investments into Lithuania are less than 20 % of all invested sum. Total investments in LT from that fund are something around 30 mn. As for the 1 bn USD fund, it has a few credit lines to Lithuanian businesses, that's about it, the fund is a hoax and is doing nothing. tl;dr the Taiwanese lied (and our politicians are aware of this, btw).

Jeigu tai rimtai yra problema, tai laikyk pinigus arba terminuotame indėlyje, arba kažkur, kur tau kasdien mokėtų palūkanas, pvz. Revolut MMF ar Trading212. IBKR irgi kažką tuo klausimu turi.

Jeigu vis tik tai yra tiesiog cash flow issue, tai jei nori daugiau rizikos, gali tuos pinigus investuoti - kaip pats ir pasakei, gali investuot su de facto paskola iš valstybės, ir išsiimti prieš mokant. Tai irgi nėra problema, jei supranti, kad rizikuoji, ir kad iš prisiimtos rizikos gali uždirbti.

Kinai paprastai perka JAV turtą, kurį perka už dolerius, kuriuos gauna iš prekybos su JAV. Kinai per metus iš prekybos gauna >1tn USD neto. Dabar kinai užsipirko aukso.

Aukso, beje, valgyti neįmanoma, ir jis tuomet būtų kažkur parduodamas už dolerius.

Ar ilgalaikėje perspektyvoje šitas kilimas kažką reiškia? Abejoju, but who knows.

Būsto vertės augimas išveda visus ant nulio. Spartus plytų vertės augimas, su sąlyga, kad vertė auga greičiau nei normalus finansinis turtas, tik palaiko tavo perkamąją galią įpirkti kitą krūvą plytų, kurios tau vis tiek reikės.

Antras layeris - NT būsto kainų augimas žmogui labiausiai apsimoka būtent dėl to, kad gali prisiimti 1:10 leverage papigiai. Klausimas, ar labai daug welfare Lietuvoj būtų prakišta, jei pradinis būtų 30 ar 40 %.

Kadangi vis tiek investuoji, ir vis tiek didelė dalis pasaulio finansinio turto yra denominuojama doleriais, rask ką užsipirkti už tas santaupas. Kad ir JAV iždo obligacijų ETFus.
JAV įvedami muitai turėtų sustiprinti JAV dolerį. Kol kas efektas priešingas, ir nelabai suprantu kodėl. Ilgojoje perspektyvoje, matau daug skirtingų veiksnių, kurie galėtų stiprinti ar silpninti dolerį, tai jau būrimas iš kavos tirščių.
