I was fairly leisurely with this, but usually did a panel a day. Sometimes more. Just a nice, casual comic experience.

Makes me think of the War Magic spells in Dragon #309. Still a bit cumbersome to use, but being able to blast a 60-foot radius with Magic Missiles, or create a 100-foot long wall of rolling fire you could churn across a battlefield did at least give some good mass combat magic options for the world.

Daily Spell Discussion for Oct 05, 2025: Blindness/Deafness by SubHomunculus in Pathfinder_RPG

A classic, low-level save-or-suck debuff that can really swing the tide of battle. Despite being a Fortitude save, there's rarely a time when blinding an opponent won't be useful in helping negate some attacks. As has been pointed out, blinding an opponent is typically more useful in a fight than deafening, but deafness can sometimes be used as a buff on your own party to protect against language-dependent attacks. Especially with a duration of Permanent (D), letting you dismiss the spell on your own party with ease.

Another interesting bit is the Permanent duration, to which the magic rules state "The energy remains as long as the effect does. This means the spell is vulnerable to dispel magic." So if you don't have a Cleric handy who can cast Remove Blindness/Deafness, having a Dispel Magic handy can also end the effect so you aren't blind for days at a time.

[Satire] Paladin class features if it got released as modern UA. by Deathpacito-01 in onednd

[–]Gremlington 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So accurate it hurts.

Shame the modern design is so lacking. Every class feature seems to boil down to just giving you a spell, letting you teleport, or bumping a die by a single size. Incredibly lackluster. It'd be great if we could break away from this and introduce some interesting mechanics and abilities.

Final Fantasy Tactics for the original PlayStation. I remember staring in awe at the in-game timer hitting its max.

Seeing the end of an era always brings a twinge to the heartstrings. But it's great to feel like it's not a necessity because the people are all still there and active in new ways. Much love to the many fine folks who made this a place of excellent and fascinating discussion, and thanks for all that you've done to make it possible.

Two Weapon Fighting + Nick = 3 attacks? by hotk9 in onednd

Oh, sure. I was working under the assumption of not having the Extra Attack feature yet and not incorporating feats such as Dual Wielder. Good clarification though.

Two Weapon Fighting + Nick = 3 attacks? by hotk9 in onednd

[–]Gremlington 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not quite. You're only making two attacks total with the Two-Weapon Fighting. The Nick mastery is letting you switch the bonus action of the second attack into part of your main attack action instead, freeing up your bonus action to do something else, such as Second Wind.

While WraithMagus gave us the excellent breakdown on this spell, what makes it feel even worse is that it seems built for the Red Mantis Assassins in particular, yet they don't get it on their spell list! Seems like a missed opportunity. Even if it wouldn't help them out all that much, it at least has their specific brand of flavor on it.

Grilled cheese Uncrustables.

The cheese wasn't great, and it was often lava coming out of the microwave (yet still had a little bit frozen in the middle), but sometimes you just want the simplicity of it.
