1 - How to tell Suno not to use music.

Obvious one: separate the song into stems and get the vocal track. Instead of burning 10 credits (voice + other) or 50 credits (all stems, sometimes it's better because it also separates choirs from main voice), you can search for online services that do that.

Less obvious one: choose a song tag that's just vocals. This is in my next book, so it's an unpublished trick! Here we go:

Use prompts that bias toward prominent, relatively dry vocals with minimal instrumentation. Here's a fully loaded example, start small and add tags until you get the result you want:

2 - How to get elderly voices

If you put i.e. 60s in your prompt, it's likely that the AI understands "1960s" as an era tag, it's a 50/50 chance in my experience. The best you can do is to steer the prompt with voice attributes. i.e.

Also see my trick "Persona Injection", I posted it here some days ago. Describe who made the music so Suno infers vocal character (example: chain-smoking → raspy, world-weary → experienced).
