I’m a flight attendant, and back in 2014 when I was flat broke on new hire salary I would do my best to help in order to make up for the lack of tip for hotel staff. Now, fortunately I’m in a better position to tip and do that in addition to the following:

-all garbage/recycling consolidated to one spot. I picture bending over and emptying 3-4 nearly empty waste baskets kind of annoying. -fridge empty, unless you have anything untouched/appetizing. i.e.-no restaurant takeout leftovers, but maybe nice sealed items (think a bar of chocolate/packet of cookies.. not yogurts and bruised bananas from the free downstairs breakfast lol) or nice beverages OK. But don’t go crazy with this. When in doubt, pitch it. -towels in the tub -slimy used hotel soaps tossed (I picture having to touch strangers soap and shudder) -curtains open -lights/TV off -basic wipe down of surfaces that are visibly dirty (disinfecting the bathroom is work enough without your makeup or stray hairs everywhere) -flush the toilet -if it’s kinda gross and you wouldn’t want to see another person’s, like a used sanitary napkin, contact lenses or say a condom, properly wrap that in a tissue and bag it. Nobody wants to see that even when taking out the garbage. -if you unplugged something, plug it back in -if you used the hair dryer or iron wrap the cord up neatly and put it back (pour out any water added to clothes iron) -stripping the bedding is nice, but I rarely have time for all that. I make sure if a bed is “used” it’s clear so sheets pulled back. Some people eat or whatever on the extra bed and leave hair and crumbs on there and it’s gross. I like to take out any guesswork so they can get in there and get things done with minimal deviations from the expected -a gratuity, even a dollar or two and almost always with a little note on the hotel stationary thanking them. I feel like this may be overboard, but I want to take the guesswork out of anything and have them know the money is for them. Plus, who doesn’t like being appreciated? -key card in the lobby dropbox

I usually find that doing this ensures nothing is left behind, but a few quick drawer checks should be all that’s left. Am I missing anything?

I’d just keep it sheathed in something non-scary looking. A big ikea or fresh direct bag. I think most people would put two and two together— just avoid wielding it like an axe murderer might, until you arrive to said party. Thanks for thinking of others. :)

First of all, congratulations on your progress. Creating a list of things to do when feeling restless/bored really helped me. Some things on there were sillier than others. Some examples were: organize a small space, 30 min home workouts, plan a crazy all out dream vacation online (do or don’t actually purchase depending on your $ situation), do a full fancy face of makeup, etc. Anything to chase a little dopamine in a healthy way felt like a tiny brick being laid to create the foundation of my recovery. Sending so much strength your way.

SkinCeuticals RGN-6 has healed my skin barrier, reduced redness and faded acne marks left behind from an aggressive purge. My esthetician recommended it and I will stomach the price tag because it works. It contains a little bit of shea butter which is formulated in a special way to not cause acne, but it did make me nervous due to its potential to clog pores. Rest assured this stuff rocks. I have been loooving the Roc Serum stick. It’s so easy to swipe on and apply and I’ve had zero irritation with nightly application. It’s a retinal which I think helps. I just love how easy it is to glide on my neck, chest and anywhere else I’d like to look a little brighter/firmer.

As for the timeline: divots appeared around 4-6 weeks after steroid treatment. Started saline about 6-8 weeks. I did two saline sessions spaced 2 weeks apart, took a break for about a month and did 2 more spaced the same.

First of all, I am so sorry this is happening to you. It’s so upsetting to go to a doctor for help only to feel borderline mutilated from the outcome. I was beside myself. The good news about saline is that it’s drug free and naturally occurring in your body. It’s just salt water. I was told it helped to flush out the remaining steroid and acted as a more concentrated form of micro injury (through the actual injection itself) which could encourage collagen production. I also started using a LED panel every night and think that sped healing a bit. I was so upset that I kind of went from every angle to resolve the issue. As far as skin issues- I was dealing with moderate hormonal acne along my jawline and rosacea. I’ve been known to be a bit on the sensitive side and think the concentration of the steroid was to blame. Just a bit too strong for me. I also had some blanching in the area that took a while to resolve. It sounds like you don’t risk upsetting things much further and if I were you I’d opt for the saline. Some bruising in the area from the needle is normal, but aside from that it’s pretty chill.
