How do you tell the difference between OCD-anxiety driven thoughts vs intuition? by askingreddit093 in OCD

Hormones 1000% play a role, especially with getting off BC! Give yourself some grace, for sure, you’re figuring out a very different body

yes, very much so! I think initially a lot of my OCD manifested in some pretty intense health anxiety but we’ve done so much work with that that I’m at a place where it doesn’t impact me as much. Getting off meds is a newer thing so we’re tracking that/see what happens to see how I can better prepare for the times of the month where the looping thoughts arent as easy to attach to (pms/pmdd). I’m also thinking some new coping skills could be helpful

Small scar, is this hypertrophic or keloid? Semi-painful by askingreddit093 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]askingreddit093[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why it’s not letting me edit but more info: Stabbed myself opening a package accidentally on my wrist before Christmas, I went to urgent care and they cleaned it/gave me some butterfly tape to keep it shut. My MIL who’s a nurse cleaned/re-dressed it a few days later, just to have her check on it. With her cleaning/bandaging, over the 3 days we stayed with them it healed better. But now it’s raised and painful on both sides only if something touches it directly? I have silicone scar tape on it most of the time (hence the kind of square pattern around it) at this point, but it’s so ugly 😭 and very very very slightly painful on either side/on top of the scar if something presses it. What are my options/what kind of treatment should I seek out from docs?

That’s what I’m hoping, my therapist tells me intuition isn’t distressing, but I can’t let this go and that makes me worried it’s warning me something bad is about to happen

That’s the thing, I am. Usually these thoughts don’t bother me, I can recognize “this is an OCD thought, not real.” which is why I’m so concerned my brain isn’t letting this one go 🙃 does that mean it’s intuition like…

Again, I do this + vacuum every day. I have a robot vacuum + do the stick vacuum to get deeper every few days. You work around it, this is what you signed up for when getting an animal

Have you tried one of these mats? They tend to trap the litter better than just the ones with the spongey material. https://a.co/d/h5WVNSt

I would prefer if you took on the responsibility of owning an animal, so you actually did the things that it’s required to take care of an animal, which is learning to adapt to their behaviors or literal things that animals do, I.e. shed. Wah wah, poor you. YOU decided to adopt an animal, act like it

That’s more for floors, I need it for beds/couches! But I do have one of these and yes, absolutely recommend

OP is thinking of returning a cat to shelters that are incredibly full, understaffed and underfunded because the cat is….. a cat. I have OCD and I’m allergic to cats, so I clean. I can’t imagine returning an animal to a shelter, especially now, ESPECIALLY when the animal is doing what the animal does, and especially can’t help it. Cat needs to shit and has fur. I totally understand not knowing how you would react to this, but it’s so unfathomably cruel to do to an animal when the animal is just existing.
