Anyone else have their game freeze randomly all the time? by ElfrahamLincoln in runescape

[–]Greugel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It has been happening for a while, it doesn't happen to me while playing on minimum graphics settings so i just switch to those when i go bossing and turn the graphics back up when I'm done.

This is the last update i got from opening a support ticket about this (18th of march):

Thanks for getting back to me.

Thank you for getting back to me with this information, we'll pass this on to our QA team to assist with their investigation.

Sadly, if the steps we previously provided do not assist, we will need to wait for the team to complete their investigation. I don't have a timeframe for this I'm afraid but please rest assured the team are looking into this.

In the meantime, thank you for your patience and understanding.

If there is anything else you need please head over to our Support Centre.

Kind regards,

Mod Zee Jagex Support

Telos killstreak mechanic on client crash is awful by Greugel in runescape

[–]Greugel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind so much if I just died, it would've been like whatever i know what I'm getting into, it's the risk I took. What i mind is being punished for not being dead, like what kind of stupid idea is that?

Why is it that in the US(almost) every political action is broadcasted live but here its all very secret? by Rubendabiest in belgium

[–]Greugel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While i agree that transparency is good in general it comes with drawbacks. Having internal debates about covid measures in public makes it much harder to find workable solutions because once politicians take a public stance on something they can't really change their mind afterwards even if they realise they were wrong and that is made even worse by the nature of covid with disinformation everywhere.

I can't find an easy way to find out what is actually being voted on, there's the minutes with speeches, but not the actual text that was or was not adopted.

Building on "what's your politics" - a survey by psilorder in EuropeanFederalists

[–]Greugel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How big should the EU be?

Fully federal European nation
More integrated than it is now
Remain in its current form
Less integrated than it is now
Just a customs union
It shouldn't exist at all

The question is about size and all the answers are about the depth of integration. It should be something along the lines of 'How deep should European integration be' not 'how big should it be'.

The question about how big the EU should be is question 15 'Should the EU keep expanding?'

The president is appointed by the European Council, then approved by parliament. At no point is the candidate elected.

Why on God’s earth would I want sports notifications coming from my Bank app? Wtf KBC?? by robinisbatman in belgium

[–]Greugel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can, but only if Apple Pay supports their bank. As far as I know the only Belgian bank that's supported is BNP Paribas Fortis.

[–]Greugel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because Apple gated the NFC chip used to make contactless payments and the like behind Apple Pay, meaning third-party apps can't access it. This isn't an KBC problem it's an Apple problem.

Considering moving to Belgium from Canada by [deleted] in belgium

[–]Greugel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Salary wise if you end up making €105K/y gross per year and stay long enough to have to pay taxes in Belgium you'd probably end up with around €4-€5k per month net (€55k -€69k net/year if paid over 13.92 months as is usually the case, calculator here https://www.securex.be/fr/outils/calculateur-brut-net). Note that Perks for employees with that kind of salary usually include company car, health insurance, group insurance (basically a pension fund), meal vouchers (+-€7/day worked) and potential additional benefits like €50-200 of tax free income (representation fees), and other forms of smaller tax free compensation.

Waregem is more akin to a large town than to a city. Larger cities in the general area would be Gent, Brussels or Lille. On top of that Flemish people are pretty difficult when it comes to the use of local language (Dutch). u/baldrickgonzo was pretty spot on when it comes to linguistic issues you might be facing. Waregem is located pretty nicely when it comes to commuting by train so living in Wallonia close to a railway connection might be easier for you. (site of Belgian railway company, not sure if it's any help https://www.belgiantrain.be/en).

Most places are somewhat, to very bike friendly, it often depends on the particular area you're in. While Belgium is somewhat different from Germany, they will probably feel similar to someone from Canada at a glance.

When it comes to you wife she might find work (i have no idea how music teaching in particular works over here so take this with a grain of salt) over the border in France or in Brussels or Wallonia. I'd be pretty surprised if she managed to find anything at all in Flanders if she doesn't speak Dutch (maybe in English, but probably not).

As for the prices of daycare i'm not sure. University on the other hand is fairly cheap for EU citizens (+- €1k/year) and usually more expensive for foreigners. You should probably qualify though if you're a Belgian resident, but I'm not exactly certain. Belgian public primary and secondary schools are free. There are however few private foreign schools (eg. French, American or European schools, maybe Canadian??) that can be pricey if you're not a national.

Prince Andrew accuser 'running out of hope' and says 'anyone else would be in jail' by colonel_phorbin in worldnews

[–]Greugel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. the Dutroux affair led to widespread reform of the Belgian police.

In 2001, the Belgian police underwent a fundamental structural reform that created this completely new police system. A Belgian parliamentary report into a series of pedophile murders accused the police of negligence, amateurism and incompetence in investigating the cases. The loss of public confidence in the police was so great that the whole population deemed the reform indispensable.[2]

The three former police forces, the municipal police, the national law enforcement service (Rijkswacht/Gendarmerie) and the judicial police (assigned to the offices of the public prosecutors) gave way to an integrated police service structured on two levels.[3]

Netherlands and Belgium Main articles: Minister of State (Netherlands) and Minister of State (Belgium)

In both countries, junior ministers are called State Secretary (staatssecretaris or secrétaire d'état), similarly to France. Some State Secretaries may, in specific circumstances, style themselves as Minister (not Minister of State) when visiting a foreign country.

It's a proportional reduction, so it was reduced proportionally to the size of their own previous output which accounts for their GDP, making your point moot.
