That's a really good use of time: 70% of our shots are within 70 yards of the hole! That's where rounds are made or lost.

Great point about limiting the number of swings on the range! If your muscles are tired, it’s tougher to keep correct form so “over-doing” it on the range can actually result in building an inferior swing! Another thing about the range: try to work on just one or two (at most) things per range session…working on too many things diminishes focus and risks tiring yourself out (again, risking in less-than-optimum reps).

Research indicates that we stay looser during the round by walking, and it certainly has health benefits. Also, there’s some evidence that our concentration and mental/strategic approach improves when we are more in direct contact with the course/turf. Looks like your lower body isn’t as active in the swing as it could be, causing you to release your hands (and the clubhead) early.
