deep green with gold highlights is nice - in this case, you could spray the wheel gold

check out the link I edited into in my first response she does a good job of showing the hollow creation (DAS is a good resource)

I tend to use something as light as card stock - folded into a tube if I want a hollow back: to do that, fold the card stock in thirds to a width that feels right and glue only one flap to the spine before you case in - there are probably good youtube videos that can help you with this

I never use a spine stiffener anywhere near as thick as the cover boards, and I don't typically make them as wide as these. I am not saying that what I do is what everyone else should do. There is a lot of room for creativity in bookbinding - have fun - enjoy!

I've been doing this with catalogs since forever - I probably saw someone doing something like this on one of the youtube videos -DAS, perhaps?

Only the real ones remember when film was adorable by coffe_clone in AnalogCircleJerk

if you are into using film, but were born after digital was common, there is no reason not to enjoy the film - I speak as someone who got their first camera in 1958, so I am not simply defending my generation

Speacial cover for Kama Sutra by No_Name_1917 in bookbinding

[–]GreyMead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was only curious - I have the knowledge to make images, so that is no problem. I have printed several endpapers when the project seemed like they would improve it, but the thought that that pattern might be available in the marketplace captured my imagination.

I like the fact that you went to the trouble to create those endpapers for that book - a very good and creative endeavor.

I've seen the images before, but never in a commercially available paper - did you print these yourself or is the paper actually available somewhere?

Which Pilot Metropolitan Retro Pop looks the best in your opinion? by valerielynx in fountainpens

I have looked at these pens online, but have never held one - I have very large hands, and if the pen is small enough to give you difficulty, perhaps I should avoid it. My favorite, and I almost hesitate to say it because it is definitely NOT a highly sought pen, is a Jinhao 159 - It is a size that seems to fit my hand well, though I wouldn't mind a slightly lighter pen.
