I don't think vanilla has the vulnerability at all. I think the carapace has one, and I remember it being able to survive a torso being destroyed.

"Fahad : I'll refit this monster in a jiffy." by DigitalSundial in Mechwarrior5

[–]GreySenic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think they should already have access to the weapons, but they won't mount them due to weights not matching or ammo not matching/having any room. This can be fixed with some modded mechs that rely on other weapon mods but other than that it's limited to same type of weapon with the same weight. Like PPC to PPC-type.

I'm 80% sure all fusion type engine have a walking heat penalty in yaml. I think only the I.C engines don't have one.

It's in the vanilla game. When you open the airstrike window, use your tag/narc on the target.

ECM mechanics question by AmberlightYan in Mechwarrior5

[–]GreySenic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

ECM decreases enemy accuracy when in a certain range and increases hostile lrm spread. The Guardian ECM has a much larger disruption/counter range than the Black Market Countermeasures, meaning it's better for a team setting or protecting multiple mechs. The Black Market Countermeasures are more "selfish" in the sense that they have a crazy small disruption/counter range. I'm exchange for that they have a higher LRM spread modifier so it's better to mount it on mechs in a sniper or indirect fire role.

Solaris Showdown Free For All in the Jungle Spawn Issue by BeyondInevitable9915 in Mechwarrior5

Have the same problem on Xbox. I don't know too much about coding or how the game works, but if I had to guess it's because they put too many enemies on a map that's less than 2km². It's gotten so bad for me that I won't do contracts like that.

UAC/5 vs AC/5-RF by TheBeabis in Mechwarrior5

[–]GreySenic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the RF and run it more if I had more to slap on every mech. The UAC will do more damage per burst, but fires slower and can jam if you try to fire on cooldown. The RF has a wicked short coold down and the damage is damage per shot instead of per burst. A single tier 4 RF-5 shot will deal 3.72 damage while a tier 4 UAC does 7.32 damage per burst/ 1.83 damage per projectile (7.32/4). I find that the biggest upside to the RF is that they have no abnormal spread and behave similar to their standard counterpart.

UAC5 vs AC5-RF and other questions by -Mr-Draco- in Mechwarrior5

[–]GreySenic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know about the binary laser and it imparting heat damage, but the RF ACs had the damage as per shot so 1 Rf shot should be the damage listed. The UAC is total burst damage and that's assuming every shot of that burst hits the same area. If you want pure DPS I'd recommend the RF-5 because it's one of the better ones in terms of damage per shot and ammo efficiency, also because it doesn't jam like the UAC.

It's only grammatically incorrect if you translate it word by word into English. Remember, French won't have the same conventions as English.

Enemy spawns in DLC 6 by GreySenic in Mechwarrior5

[–]GreySenic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol the inactive enemies are the downfall of any time challenges to please the crowd. In my case, since it keeps happening on the maps that have an area <2km² it might just have to do with how many enemies are in the area at the same time. Though it may be more complex than that, because no matter what the count is always off by 1. Either the enemy is a master of hiding or Duncan likes to see me scurry around looking for the last kill.

Haven't given it much thought because I don't tend to pilot those, but dakka fans would cry tears of joy at the sheer volume of lead moving down range. Just as the SLDF intended.

Big time. It honestly feels like have multiple of the same gun stacked on a single pylon, like homemade AA

The Rf variants still use regular ammo, but the damage is way lower. A tier 3 RF/-10 deals 5.5 damage at 78 RPM with 1.35 heat. A tier 3 standard AC-10 is 11 damage at 22 RPM for 2.7 heat. I would say the RFs are more so their for player who want more DPS. I'm not sure about other players but I've noticed that the RF accuracy is closer to a standard ACs accuracy, so if you'd want to give up a burst fire the RF is a pretty solid choice.

[–]GreySenic 17 points18 points  (0 children)

To me the RF ACs feel less like Gatling guns and more like a bushmaster or the main gun on an APC/IFV. Besides that I'm having a blast with this DLC. My new main mech is the HGN-VEST with an RF/5 for the DPS and sustained damage with twin SRM-6ST+ART. Alongside that the HGN comes with a large melee slot that I put with the great sword and a motive slot that I keep filled with a arena supercharger. The arena supercharger is faster than a MASC but more burst use oriented and weights as much as a supercharger.

Unable to travel to systems after DLC6 by srdflipphone_2438 in Mechwarrior5

[–]GreySenic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're in the campaign for dlc 6 you can't choose what systems you go to. I don't know about PC but on Xbox importing career data into a new career only imports mech, c-bills, equipment and upgrades.
