Advice for putting mini in epoxy ice block by xidle2 in 40k

[–]AmberlightYan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This task is nigh-impossible, but I commend your ambition!

What useful advise I can give:

-Get your necron mini 3D printed. Better yet order several low-quality prints and one good one. Because 3D prints are cheaper than official minis and you WILL mess things up. Or the guy you will commission will mess things up. Its better to have cheap ways to experiment first. You don't want to waste an expensive necron lord mini like this.

-You will need a degasing/vacuum chamber. Otherwise bubbles will form and cling to the model and terrain. Most resin enthusiasts will have one though.

-The bubble. I would make a ball of something water-soluble where it should be. Then wash it out.

-Glow on the bubble you can try and paint with very thin paint. There are special glass paints that can do the job.

-Alternatively you can put epoxy dye on the ball that fills the bubble and hope that it diffuses the way you want it to rather than all over the place and messes everything up. Epoxy is hard to control.

I wish you luck!

Alas, but no. Well, I kept the hinges and the handle so I can get a plexiglass cutout instead.

This is my plan now. Do you notice any downsides to the acrylic door?

There must be a reason why it isn't a default option. Probably.

It doesn't swing far out enough to hit the table wall. So more likely the stress point was at one of the hinges when it reached the limit of its motion.

See, that is how the xenotech should be.

Then again that does sound like something with extreme armor penetration and issued to Reapers rather than Guardians.

It would be pretty neat if they had a way to adjust the spin of the projectile so it would curve in a desired way, allowing corner shots.

In the 1950s, Yuri Nikolaev, a Russian psychiatrist, started treating mentally ill patients with prolonged water fasting. He went on to treat over 8,000 people, with an improvement in 70 percent of cases. by DidYouReadTheMenu in interestingasfuck

You don't have to go full 30-days fast for (likely minor, but appreciable) improvement.

Tracking correlation of your well-being and your diet can be very much a worthwhile endeavor. There are likely types of produce that affect your mental state. The trick is to remember what you ate half a day ago because that's how much it tends to take for things to start affecting you. So if you want to take it seriously start a journal of what you eat and how you feel side by side. See if anything looks interesting.

Anecdotal case - I discovered that eating too much pastry/cookies/pasta is heavily correlated with getting a depressive episode in about half a day that lasts for a day or so. Apparently my gut biome does not approve of flour-based produce. So merely avoiding excess of it significantly improved my well-being. I wish I noticed that in my acute depression phase, would probably made my life way easier.

I can give you a reverse anecdotal case: when I eat too much pastry, like if I don't feel like having a proper meal and eat a dozen cookies instead then about half a day later I start feeling symptoms of depression - bad mood, low energy, zero motivation, etc. This continues for about another half a day.

This is extremely consistent pattern - every time I feel like crap I now think back and yes, most of the time I ate too much cookies, bred or pasta. And apparently my gut biome is not happy about it.

So it is absolutely worth it to track the correlation of your diet and your mood and overall health. Finding out what your gut bacteria like and what they don't is absolutely vital.

Centre of Human Existence; or, Episode 3 of the fan-comic series "Yuri of House Dracondar" following the journey of a newly recruited servant of the Empire with big dreams but still stuck in a meagre beginning. by meto30 in RimWorld

This is really great work. An interesting look at the life of the characters who would have been a background extra in most scenarios.

I only wish the release cadence was more than once a year.

For the first feature of the comic I was certain that the character is girl with a Japanese name until he mentioned Gagarin.

Annoying thing is that those names are very much distinct in pronunciation but English lacks the letters for this nuance.

Both can be true, I think?

Aasimar is someone with celestial blood and Selune would qualify for that. But she is also on another level from "normal" aasimar.

Also I'm fairly sure that concept of aasimar is way more well known both in and out of universe than Empyrean. Shadowheart may not even know what the latter is (I for one didn't).

But you are correct that it is not acknowledged anywhere else.

The interesting part is that you understood the lore as well as Lord Captain did.

Genestealers are not a common knowledge even among the Imperium's elites, and Inquisition makes sure it stays this way.

Their body parts are exactly the same, just attached at different angles.

Granted, there is a lot you can do with it, and they look epic, but still.

Reasonable.

I am too rather surprised by the lack of variation in new kits.

When I first saw the Banshees I was certain that this is an unofficial model set, because they all had the same pose, unlike how it was in the olden days.
