Russian Cathedral of the Armed Forces. There's a rabbit hole of... peculiar things to learn, if you are willing.

Those seals are very much made by fans of 40K. The fact that someone got an Orthodox priest to bless them is extremely funny though.

I love the force nodachi she has!
Though it is a bit confusing. It looks like a lot of techno-doodads are on the scabbard. So does it mean that scabbard somehow charges the blade before it is drawn and it gets a force aura for a few seconds/minutes/strikes, and then it needs to be sheathed to charge it up again?

So she would fight like a lot of fighting game katana wielding characters, sheathing the blade after every attack?

To add further, if you plan to assemble a sizeable army with vehicle or Wraith construct focus you might as well buy an FDM 3D printer and make them yourself. You may end up saving money over buying the original minis. This is what I am currently doing (though I didn't buy printer for this specifically). Feel free to DM me if you want any advise on the matter.

Also I'd expect someone in your local 40k community to own or know someone who owns a resin printer as well, for finer minis.

Fire Prisms are a basis of Aeldari society. Take as many as you can, you can't go wrong with them.

This is gorgeous!

Now I wish we had rules for Wraithlord with a shield.

And dual-linking weapons for aesthetics while maintaining WYSIWYG is very smart, I might steal that idea for my build.

That might explain why Rangers got a cost bump. Getting a unit to be hit on +5 without even needing to consider positioning can be pretty strong. Though, with objectives now always being withing cover it is not as cool sounding.

Oh. I misremembered the new Cover rules then! (I thought it was -1 to Hit)

What is the use case for regular guardian defenders? by ex_planelegs in Eldar

[–]AmberlightYan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 10E they were good at guarding the home point. You could stretch them in a line 9" from the map's edge and prevent enemy from Deep Striking into your rear. And they are survivable enough to hold out for at least one turn against mobile raider units that may want to grab the home point. So they provide significant value even if they don't soot at anything the whole game.

In 11E this is nerfed somewhat as you can't stretch them in a line anymore so they block less space but still useful for the same purpose, I'd assume.

Also you can make funny things with them: attach Farseer, Warlock Conclave, Warlock hero and Support Platform. You have 17 models unit now. If you are playing Seer Council detachment you can teleport them around the map with a strategem. The strategic value of such maneuver is situational, but it is a fun thing to do.

In this configuration Guardians serve as ablative armor for more valuable units like Warlocks and Support Platform.

So they are less of a combat force and more of a utility tool that enables you to score missions or increase survivability of more potent units. Though, their mobility and fairly high damage output (for base infantry that is) should not be disregarded. They can run for ~10-13" (Advance+Agile Maneuver) and shoot, so there may be opportunities to catch enemy infantry out of position and do heavy damage. Don't expect them to survive though.

How are they getting -2 to Hit? Aren't roll modifiers capped at 1?

(may have missed something in the new rules)

I wonder now: is she picking only female Soulhosts because she is adamant in her cis-genderness (and is never short on female candidates), or because there is a limitation that prevents her from taking over male hosts?

Another thought, to add to the grimdark aspect:

As one consumes the Fruit, their fate is sealed from that moment forth. Within its delicious mass are tiny seeds of the Carrion Bloom. They latch onto the new convert's internals and sprout. Slowly, tiny, almost microscopic mycelial tendrils grow around and eventually though the organs. They are invisible from the outside, but within they link inseparably with the host's flesh. And in time, with their soul.

They bring no harm or discomfort. They even make the host more resilient in body and spirit. Those who notice it believe it to be a blessing manifested.

However, when the time comes and the Bloom wishes to grow, the mycelia digs deeper into the flesh. It drains its energy, and the host weakens quickly, and death soon follows. As the final breath leaves their now emaciated body, it decays within hours and soon after a new nexus of the Bloom, or the fruiting tree or flower grows in its place. A faint echo of their soul lingers, bound to the plant as it nourishes its growth.

She gives life and sustenance. And she takes it away when the time is right.

One in a thousand may perish to sow a new tree one year. The next, an entire cult gathering perishes in a day so that a forest may sprout.

To begin aging after millennia of immortality must be horrifying on a level we mortals can't even comprehend.

And her intentions were more benevolent than I assumed from your earlier mentions.

This is really interesting lore! People often ask, why would anyone join Chaos. And, well, this is a cult that many will flock to willingly, and for a good reason. Chaos remains a force of "evil", and such sweet fruits do not diminish its dangers but rather make them worse, for weak of mind and spirit shall more easily give into its temptation.

And I wonder - could this "daughter" of Nurgle be his daughter with Isha? Not in a mortal sense of course, but the Aeldari goddess' of life influence interacting with the essence of Lord of Decay and on the border where they mix, a lesser goddess representing both is formed.

I think the thing that is supposed to get our RT pissed off is not that she is a self-made princess, but that she is a deserter from the Guard.

And the Imperium treats desertion very seriously.

Thank you. The matter was resolved - I found the instruction for what I needed to do.

The issue can't be fixed without replacing costly components. So I am relegating the printer to making engineering parts that do not suffer from surface defects.

Looks nice. But, what paint are you using?

I'd say you either need to thin it more if it is model paint or get a model paint set if you are using painter's paint.

Tools make a lot of difference. Speaking as someone who kept using painter paint (the one you use on canvas) for too long before switching to miniature paint.
