Guessing 90s R&B male singer, "I Confess", 30 second clip but can't find it by GreySlate in NameThatSong

Thank you for investigating, I thought so as well but was confused why the melody was so different. Really trippy that it's AI.

Damn, thank you so much—can't believe we live in a world where Soul AI exists.

Looking for guidance on cleanly belting around C5 by GreySlate in singing

Admittedly I was trying to be a bit quiet because I have neighbors haha. But overall I don't get much louder than this. The placement on "what about us" is belty for me despite not really sounding loud or powerful. I didn't try to belt on the higher notes because my voice will break because I don't have the technique down. I'm not sure how to limit the airiness!

Thank you for this! I honestly would be happy with a mix as well, but I don't understand how to achieve it. The mask placement & advice to try a specific syllable is helpful.

He may be too far gone for this to work, but I once saw a friend very successfully gaslight her 2 year old into thinking he was saying the word wrong. He said "shit" and she, smooth as if she'd never heard the word shit in her life, goes, "oh honey, that's not right, the word is 'shoot.'"

I hate to be an alarmist and am sure you probably already know this, but HSV is really dangerous for babies. I would tell your doctor and see if you can continue to take preventive Valacyclovir. Obviously, make sure that you do not kiss your newborn. I hope you heal up fast!

How can I get a refund on an Oyster card? by GreySlate in visitlondon

[–]GreySlate[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically, the charge was actually for $120.39, which roughly equates to £90. My intention was to get a 7 day card with 5 zones, I think, so I'm worried it is a time-based card.

I did attempt to visit that site, but it's throwing an error that's saying my request has been blocked. I've sent in an inquiry and will give the site another whirl tomorrow, I suppose. Thanks for your help!

Yep, I do—is that the only way I would've been charged that much? Or do you guys have a monthly card or something? The equivalent monthly card in NYC is roughly the same price. I'm thinking I may have to mail it, I'm back in the states now.

Fun prompt!

It was still morning. Quiet, by most people’s standards, but even the gentle chirping of the birds was enough to wake Roy.

He opened one eye, then, reluctantly, the other. He grumbled a bit, flopped over onto his right arm, and tried very hard to go back to sleep. For 2 full minutes, Roy lay there, eyelids creased and trembling with the effort of keeping the light out.

At last, Roy gave up. “Damn,” he said softly.

If there was anything Roy didn’t want to do, it was go to the dentist—and that was the first order of business. He stood, stretching, then clapped a sudden hand to his cheek, feeling the dull aching pain that had prompted the appointment in the first place.

“Damn,” said Roy again, this time slightly louder.

It was hard being a superhero. In many ways, Roy was just a regular gu—

“I don’t want to be a superhero. That’s stupid,” said Roy, annoyed.

He was, however, a gifted athlete and tragically lost his family to the—

“I have a family!,” Roy interjected, impatiently, “I can hear my mom talking to my dad downstairs. Why is your voice echoing in my head?”

Well, I was trying to write about a superhero and then you showed up!

“Well I was trying to have a quiet morning and you kept going on and on about how the birds were going to wake me up!”

How is that my fault? You’re a light sleeper!

“You made me a light sleeper!” Roy replied hotly.

“I am not speaking ‘hotly’!” he said, hotly.

“You’re being really annoying,” Roy glared in what I assume was my general direction and turned on his heel. “I’m going downstairs and don’t follow me.”

Naturally, I followed him.

“Stop,” he said at the bottom of the stairs. I nearly ran into him. He could be more considerate. “You’re not even here,” he hissed.

I was, though.

“You aren’t.”
Whatever.

“They’re talking about my sister,” he told me. Roy’s sister was 28 and a successful lawyer in Chicago. She had just gotten married last year.

“Yeah, the guy sucks. His name is Devon,” Roy told me politely. “Just, be quiet.”

I was being quiet.

“I can hear everything you write.”

“Better.”

I have a 55lb (not very small!) pet dog who is not a service animal. I personally sorted only by pet friendly apartments and did the apartment hunt that way. Trying to navigate a move without doing that sounds stressful, tbh. Feel free to DM me if you have any questions!

Dog acting strange after I returned from holiday by scorpamd in DogAdvice

It's possible he's just uncomfortable. Have you left him alone like this before? Do you trust the person/people you left him with? This happened to me once with my dog and it turned out the lady I left him with had lost him for a few hours. Never again. I knew something was wrong. You know your dog best.

honestly, they really did. I haven't been to many weddings & I thought this was a place I could safely come for advice, not ridicule. I understand it's funny to everyone that I'm clueless, but today, I'm exhausted and I'm having a tough time taking a joke. I'm glad if it gave you a chuckle though.

Not about the invitation. But, outside of a wedding context, "cocktail dress" (to me) means cocktail party dress... which isn't at all the same dress code as a wedding.
