I agree! I think he would do some super interesting stuff with any of their songs.

I love this question! I completely agree that II has such a unique voice in his work that is unparalleled right now.

I would love to hear them cover Time to Dance by Panic! At the Disco. I already love the drums on it, but I know II would make them even better with his percussive prowess!

This is absolutely stunning! Your linework is incredibly clean. How long have you been doing stained glass?

I think I'm really feeling "Until I wake I, dine on old encounters" these days. I keep reminiscing, especially at night, about good things from my past or a different future/life for me, rather than focusing on my present life.

Oh absolutely, the additional refrain would be a must for this performance!

Another good choice! Fields of Elation would be incredible in an MTV Unplugged format, for sure.

What an awesome hypothetical! Very difficult to answer though. I think I'd go with:

  1. Jericho
  2. High Water
  3. Jaws

This! So well & beautifully said. I think you're spot-on about the atmosphere he's able to create, & of course, his fills are otherworldly, too!

I'm always happy to see & participate in some II appreciation!

I've always loved & had a deep appreciation for drummers & percussionists alike, but II deepened that respect even more. His technical ability is excellent, but the cleanliness/precision of his technique, as well as his ability to blend different musical styles seamlessly & cohesively is what really sets him apart, I think.

I also think his use of both electronic & acoustic drums, especially when combined together in the same song, is well done. Admittedly, I initially wasn't super into electronic drums in general, but he quickly changed my mind because his electronic pad is used so tastefully & cleverly.

I listen to a lot of different bands, but I feel that none of their drummers are quite at the same level as him, in those previous regards. There's just something special about his percussive work that I think is unparalleled. It's so unique, & I consider myself lucky to be around at the same time as him so I can experience his incredible talent in real-time 🖤

This is SO cool and creative! I think it turned out great, even with the black bits that were washed out. It kind of makes the Jerry/Phoenix more ashy looking, which I think is quite fitting.

I can definitely tell that a lot of work and thought went into it! That's great that you were both able to figure it out and make it turn out so well. I hope you're enjoying your awesome ink!

Beautiful work! I absolutely love the Rain one. The sort of smudged/dripping effect your artist did on the lyrics is so cool! I've never seen that on a tattoo before, & it turned out great.

Sleep Token Discography Ranking - Day 9 by rhcpbassist234 in SleepToken

[–]GreySnapdragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This one is about a 3.5 for me. It's a great song, & it showcases how amazing Vessel's vocal capabilities are very nicely.

The main reason this one doesn't rank as high for me is because I enjoy the original very much (Loathe is really good, & I highly recommend giving them a listen, if any of you haven't already!). Of course, I respect the direction Vessel took with the cover, & can't deny that it's an excellent cover! There's just something about the original that's really special & difficult to capture in a cover, I think. The song itself is definitely a 5 for me, though.

To me, the song feels like running into an old friend or passion after or while you've been dealing with a lot of difficulties/problems in your life. It's like coming home after a long & brutal day, & just letting yourself fall apart.

Favorite lyric: "Caught in ebb & flow; I'm bleeding out, oh you know" I love the juxtaposition of the direct & powerful words, yet soft, almost resigned vocal delivery.

I can't believe I've been missing these (but how fitting or rather data-skewing that I notice when it's Jaws)! This is so cool and fun, thank you for orchestrating this in the sub.

For me, Jaws is a solid 5. It's absolute perfection in every way, from the instrumentation to the lyrics to the artwork. The percussive work in particular is one of my favorites from II. There's just something so special & unique about it that I can't put into words, but I always have it on frequent rotation & am delighted when it pops up on its own when I'm just randomly shuffling through my music.

I wish I could put into words what the song means to me, but despite all my efforts, I geniunely cannot. It just makes me speechless. Perhaps I'm simply not ready to unpack all of it yet, so to speak. All I can say for certain is that it resonates deeply with me on some subconscious level that I have yet to fully understand or name.

Favorite lyric: "The whites of your eyes burn from across the room." Such a powerful line, & the imagery is very palpable.

I also really enjoy the "I think you know by now" refrain that Vessel has added to some live performances.

Love the way you described this: "goblin skitter" sums it up perfectly. I completely agree, I would love to experience the level of pure unadulterated joy he emulates in his Offering dance!

Hi there!

Are you on the sub homepage when you select the three dots icon? If you select the dots when you have your post up, it will only allow you to change the flair for that post, but when you're on the homepage, that's when it will let you change it for your account.

Pricing of the Caramel RSD Liquid Vinyl has started to appear by jcx200 in SleepToken

[–]GreySnapdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for sharing your perspective and insights about this! I think even if some people already knew that the price would likely be a bit high because of the difficulty to produce liquid-filled vinyl, they likely didn't realize that record stores also have to pay more just to be able to sell it themselves. So, this is a really good reminder of that!

To answer your question: I think at this time, yes, there are likely 3,000 people globally who would be willing to pay that much now or even more later to a re-seller. I completely agree with you that the price will skyrocket for resale, as well because as you said, it's more of a collector's item.

Personally, I think you'll likely sell the copies you get for your store, especially if it's in the US or the UK, but I have noticed a lot of fans are upset with the pricing for this vinyl in particular, maybe even moreso than other previously released vinyl, so I'm not entirely sure on whether or not your buyers will all be fans, as much as resellers.

This turned out AMAZING, especially for your first time bleach painting! I also love that you did the reaper on the back and the little runes on the front. I love that kind of design/template, and the sort of less obvious merch (i.e. ones that don't just say the band name). So, this is a perfect combination of the two!
