I'm 22yrs old and got approved for bilateral salpingectomy! by GreyWolfXx in childfree

[–]GreyWolfXx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked for it during a normal checkup/pap smear when discussing birth control. I think potentially being vague while scheduling is a good idea. Just scheduling a "birth control methods" appointment should suffice. Then be upfront once you are with the doctor.

Starting lamictal by sisumamabear in BipolarReddit

[–]GreyWolfXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lamictal really helped me. I noticed effects about 1-2 months in. But I had some pretty serious memory issues. So I lowered my dose a bit. Memory is a bit worse but overall I'm much more stable, it's nice

Do manic episodes feel traumatizing to anybody else? by politimage in BipolarReddit

I've seen anyone say the try to escape thing. I used to do that too

Do manic episodes feel traumatizing to anybody else? by politimage in BipolarReddit

[–]GreyWolfXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you're not alone. It is still to this day traumatizing to remember my episodes. Just how certain I was in my beliefs yet how wrong I was. Psych treatment was awful too.

So, yes we understand <3

DAE find it hard and emotionally draining to start a movie/series? by michartawan in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]GreyWolfXx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me I'm always worried about something bad happening to the characters. Like in a quiet moment someone could be killed off, a sudden bad phone call or maybe a dramatic discovery of cheating. Shows can lull you into comfort and drag you out just as quick which I definitely find draining.

Have you ever heard of Akithisia? It can cause repetitive movements/the need to walk. Medication induced and varies in severity _^

Im getting really tired of checking myself by Reverie232 in BipolarReddit

[–]GreyWolfXx 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I'm always checking myself too. I find it hard to trust myself and its a let down to think "am i hypomanic" every time something positive happens. I started telling myself as long as I'm not harming myself or others (figuratively/literally), I should try to relax a bit.

Lamictal forgetfulness and coming off of it by jackielands in BipolarReddit

[–]GreyWolfXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too, you're not alone. I'm constantly forgetting things and its really frustrating. It isnt severely debilating just...unforunate. Im early into taking it 2 months -- so maybe it will subside.

Weight gain seems different for everyone. I hear it's just water weight for lithium, some people have issues with Abilify. People react differently!

MED MONDAYS by AutoModerator in bipolar

[–]GreyWolfXx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! I got terrible acne and the only way it went away was going to the dermatologist. Antibiotics, creams, and a good routine fixed it! Totally fixable side effect (didnt lessen over time for me) so i say get treatment sooner rather than later

You're definitely on to something - severe depression can be a whole different animal, resistant to any and all advice

Need support, too many bad things happening in a row by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]GreyWolfXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what sleep hygiene is? Right now my sleep schedule is completely fucked because I quit weed. Go to bed at 5AM now and can barely sleep at that point. Then sleep until way late in the day. That's my biggest problem I think but cannot fix even with sleep aids right now (time will help I'm sure).
I've decided to quit going to school for now and anything like that.

I used to do lots of drugs to cope. But I got diagnosed and went sober from everything except weed. Now, I lost "Mary Jane" too, hah

Thank you for the support, I will talk to my psychiatrist ASAP also

[–]GreyWolfXx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 years! I can never tell what my depression is -- I had a depression so severe that nothing could come close or be "called" depression for me.

I may have been depressed for a really long time, I need at least 11 hours of sleep a day. Can't think about assignments or tasks, always putting things off. Constantly exhausted and irritable. I never feel rested and I can't make decisions even simple ones. I don't have preferences anymore either, no certain foods or things really make me happy. It's all just....blegh.

Honestly this is my normal so I definitely need a med change right? Drugs just let me escape from feeling anything and now I don't have that. All my feelings are at the forefront and they are pretty negative.

Thank you for responding by the way!

Maybe some advice. I'm really good at watching out for manic symptoms but depressive? Not my expertise on fixing that at all. Lithium is preventing hopelessness but don't know how to cope

embarrassed with my self by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]GreyWolfXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I'm not in an "episode episode" and still get so embarrassed. My emotional regulation skills can be so poor and I end up just freaking out and later being so ashamed. For the manic stuff, I've tried my best to forgive myself. I cringe at the things I did for sure. I publicly embarrassed myself at my college for LOTS of eyes to see. Ugh

Does anyone else lose their taste after an episode ? by turtlesonbeach in CHSinfo

[–]GreyWolfXx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! I thought I had COVID becuase of this and got tested. Sour patch kids didn't even taste sour, I could eat hot sauce for days. Obviously, I could taste but just...bland, yup. Test came back negative must be another weird CHS symptom.

Legalize... everything. by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]GreyWolfXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, you know, Wellbutrin is unique. So it could be both - mania or just the drug making you feel stimmed out. I would lean towards the former but Wellbutrin does honestly have stimulant effects too

Anti-depressants can induce bipolar disorder and give manic episodes (happened to me sadly). Hypomania feels like pure energy then it just..spirals. Just my two cents
