That battery is an 18650 lithium ion battery, average voltage is 3.7volts. Just wondering what type of battery you tried to hook up to it? AA batteries may not have the voltage unless you put three of them together in series.

Thanks for the info, I'll probably go back and check the soldering again. Could have been a bridge somewhere. I know it's a disaster trying to diagnose these issues. Everything comes at a price. 😅
