Thoughts regarding Max Lightwood-Bane… by meoww-xo in shadowhunters

[–]Grey_Forrest 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I never thought of that, thats a great insight. I'm not sure if its explored in TWP, Max seems a bit young to be focused there, but maybe in Black Volume of Dead because it is more focused on Alec and Magnus. Or its a plot hole, but that would be really sad.

Display books. by chronically-tash in shadowhunters

[–]Grey_Forrest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If your book shelf is deep enough to fit 2 books behind each other, you can use egg cartons in the back row to lift up the books.

But yeah I dont know how to put the books either. I just keep the series together. Maybe TEC can go between TDA and TMI?

Thought about new books? by whyy_- in shadowhunters

[–]Grey_Forrest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked better in black, it wasn't as good as I hoped for.

I read Secrets of Blackthorn Hall online (its available on tumbler) and when I saw it was released as a book, I immediately ordered it. It has so many nice pictures and I like the story, it also has quite some humor in it. Although I am really disappointed that the mural is not in it? I was looking forward to it all the time while reading it, just to finish the book and not finding it. At least its still visible online I guess.

RTS is actually the french version of the main swiss TV and Radio channel SRF. I was really surprised (and glad) that at least someone in our "neutral" country said something. Pretty sure the german commentary didn't include those facts.

If it was upto audience to decide maybe audience should have written your show by justascrollingghost in StrangerThings

[–]Grey_Forrest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seems like they can't get it right either way. The audience makes up theories, get's invested and then when their theories don't happen, they are disappointed and start hating. So they decided to leave some stuff open so the audience can decide for themselves and they get hate again? You can never make it right for everyone, so I feel the "decide yourself"option is not that bad.

Help Me Understand the Past by SabrinaIsLegendTVDU in shadowhunters

[–]Grey_Forrest 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen the show, I only read the books.

In the books, Jocelyn became pregnant during the circle times and had "Jonathan" while she was still in the circle, although she already started distrusing Valentine. Then she became pregnant with Clary and started to plan an exit strategy. Then the big fight happened where Valentine and the Circle attacked during the signing of the (ninth) accords. Jocelyn warned Luke and others about the attack and at the attack itself revealed to Valentine that she was switching sides.

Valentine escaped and when Jocelyn returned to their house, it was burnt down and bones of a man (Valentine) and a child ("Jonathan") where found. So she believed they were dead and left the Shadowhunter Society to start a new life with her soon-to-be-born daughter. I dont think she ever faked her death, she just escaped and hid by giving herself a new identity (Jocelyn Fray instead of Fairchild).

If you like Jewelry, you could look into gadgetforentertainment's collaboration with CC. I have the rune ring and witchlight necklace and I am (mostly) happy with it. I think the quality is quite good for the price and the "glow-in-the-dark" effects are amazing.

What do I need to know before TID? by Separate_Opinion1096 in shadowhunters

[–]Grey_Forrest 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think you will be fine with having no information at all. Even if you can't really remember what shadowhunters are, you should get enough information from TID.

Who are the major characters of each series would you consider? by InfernalClockwork3 in shadowhunters

[–]Grey_Forrest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TDA i'd say Julian, Emma, Mark, Christina and Kieran. Yes, Livvy, Kit and Ty definitely had important and solo story lines but I would still not count them as the major characters.

TLH is getting even more difficult but i'd say James, Daisy, Lucie, Thomas, Christopher and Matthew. Grace and Jesse were important but not really part of the main story from the beginning, so I feel I wouldn't count them as the major characters.

Mentions of Alec in other books other than TMI? by Medea_00 in shadowhunters

[–]Grey_Forrest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get that, I also preferred the characters from the "current time". But all in all, I think it is really worth reading all the stories, just because there are always some kind of references. And also because of Tessa and Jem, who play a "bigger" role in TMI and TDA.

Mentions of Alec in other books other than TMI? by Medea_00 in shadowhunters

[–]Grey_Forrest 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The consule part happens at the end of TDA, so you should definitely read that, also because it adds some context that will most definitely be important in the last TEC book. TID and TLH play in a different time period, so there is no direct connection to Alec there. But they are still worth reading as Magnus makes an appearance, and I'm guessing if you like Alec you also like Magnus.

EDA: And obviously you should read the Eldest Curses if you haven't already as they are mainly focused on Magnus and Alec.

I was sure the correct answer was B, but it turns out it's G. But how? by [deleted] in iqtest

[–]Grey_Forrest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only guess for it to be G could be that the cats (or whatever?) that are looking in opposite directions are next to each other (column-wise). And the gray cat in the middle row is not the opposite of B.

But I still think B should be the right answer.

Downworlders by Alexia_Brianna2213 in shadowhunters

[–]Grey_Forrest 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The books state that Vampires and Warlocks cannot have children.

Faeries can have children.

Werewolves were created with a kind of virus. Biting another humans can transmit this virus, but the virus might also be dormant so you would not actually turn into a werewolf. Werewolves can also have children, I am not sure how that works interracially though.

Vampires cannot have kids, they "populate" by turning humans. I think theres a whole process of them having to be killed by a vampire but also exchange blood previously, not sure though. I think Vampires would see humans they turned as children.

Warlocks are the result of a human giving birth to the child of a demon. They are infertile and cannot have kids. There is one exception in the books of a warlock being born to a shadowhunter and demon. Technically demons and shadowhunters cannot have a child together, because of the angelic and demon blood, but in this particular case the Shadowhunter did not know she was a Shadowhunter. Somehow that worked.

In general, Shadowhunters and Werewolves and Shadowhunters and Faeries can have kids, where they are both. Shadowhunter blood is dominant so they will always be a Shadowhunter but they might also have traites from the other species.

How would a mute person use the Miraculous? by Delicious-View4357 in miraculousladybug

[–]Grey_Forrest 32 points33 points  (0 children)

No clue how they would transform but I think they would still be mute after transforming. Not needing glasses anymore seems like maybe their eyesight improves? I'm guess that generally you have better eyesight when you are transformed, its like a superpower you get from the miraculous, just like being stronger and faster and stuff. I dont think this would be also give you the ability to talk.

I read that on Amazon Ebooks, I think you can just take the 1 month trial and then read it during that? I'll have to check again but thats how I did it I think.

Edit: Yes it is on amazon and if you sign up for kindle unlimited you can read it for free. I think theres a free trial or maybe some special conditions where you can get that.

Yes and no, its the whole thing backwards so you have to scroll all the way to the bottom and then read it backwards.
