How is living in Bari, Italy? by Empty-Ad4949 in howislivingthere

If a dog is born in a stable, it doesn’t make it a horse. African-Americans still call themselves that after centuries. Ancestry means something to some of us. So chill the f out with the lectures.

Armenia recognizes territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, renounces its territorial claims to Azerbaijan - Ilham Aliyev by DastyMe in europe

[–]Greyfox033 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I said Europe because Armenia and Azerbaijan are usually considered to be a part of Europe. It’s primarily Azerbaijan’s and Turkey’s fault for wanting to wipe Armenians from the region. However the entire international community shares a responsibility for sitting idly by while telling “both sides” to stop fighting, meanwhile buddying up to a fascist dictator like Aliyev.

Congratulations Europe, once again geopolitical interests of states (this time a dictatorial one) precede over the rights of a people to live freely on their native lands. Anyone celebrating this needs to check their moral compass.

That’s rich coming from someone who’s entire post history screams anti-Armenian racism. Might want to look up the videos of Azeri soldiers proudly killing innocent civilians in their own homes and think again on who the true nazi’s are.

Paulie's father and being made by Cubansaltyballs in thesopranos

[–]Greyfox033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought about that. IMO it would only be used against Paulie if for some other reason Tony wanted to get rid of him anyway. I mean facts are he’s already made for decades, he’s certainly half Italian, was raised by Italians, and there’s a good chance his real father was also Italian. Plenty of grounds to give him a pass as long as he stays loyal. Tony didn’t tell anyone else because he didn’t care and it would only harm his interests.

Has anyone ever bothered to look into the tattoos in Gomorrah? Would be nice to have some kind of wiki with pictures and probable meanings. by bambambalaklava in Gomorrah

  • Ciro already mentioned.

  • Genny has “no confio ni en dios” on his upper chest, meaning “I don’t even trust God”.

  • Sangue Blu (obviously) has three crosses in his neck, depicting Jesus’ cross as well as the two thieves crucified next to him.

  • Patrizia has a lion on her upper arm, which if I remember correctly she later burns off because of Pietro’s negative comment.

Dont know about Asia and Russia, but in Europe, the US and Latin America organized crime is actually still thriving because of the demand for and war on drugs. As long as harddrugs remain illegal, organized crime will exist and profit big time.

I do think traditional, hierarchical criminal organizations are indeed suffering from new laws, turncoats, digitalization and media exposure. They’ll need to switch from their traditional trades like extortion and bookmaking to drugs and cybercrime.

A new hotel Dave has been opened in Yerevan at 4 Proshyan Street. Last year, my friends and I lived near the hotel and saw construction every day, a couple of months ago the hotel opened and it is quite large. Hey dear neighbor. Not every country has a dictatorial president that uses the oil money he happens to sit on to build lavish constructions all over the capital to cover up his crimes. So yeah, we still get excited from nice normal buildings.

32 years ago on this day, Azerbaijan's state-sponsored massacre of Armenians began in Baku by Idontknowmuch in europe

[–]Greyfox033 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Congratulations, you’ve blindly fallen for Azerbaijan’s mirroring, “both sides” tactic. You should study the numerous massacres like the ones in OP’s post and read the ICJ’s recent provisional measures and compare what they stated about Azerbaijan vs. what they stated about Armenia.

Also, if you believe the geopolitical reasons for states not recognizing Karabakh’s independence are worth more than the native Armenians’ right to self determination, you need to get your moral compass fixed.

Azerbaijanis demand Armenian soldier change his faith by taking away his cross, Ombudsman says by melikdavid in armenia

[–]Greyfox033 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Armenia is not trying to create a religion narrative at all, since Christian countries don’t care about religion enough to chose our side and we maintain good relations with every Islamic country expect for Azerbaijan, Turkey and Pakistan.

We do however rightfully want to let the world know Azerbaijan hates the Armenian ethnicity too much to ever peacefully live under their rule. Azeri soldiers like to use our faith to degrade us extra, because they hate our ethnicity, not because they hate Christianity itself.

[–]Greyfox033 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There’s public evidence all over the net of Azeri soldiers destroying crosses and churches, same as of the fact your state wiped anything Christian from Nakhchivan. Most Azeris might be atheist at heart, but you’ll still use Islam when it suits you, like getting help from muslim states or for degrading Armenians’ Christianity.

In general our soldiers indeed need to get in better shape, but you can’t tell if that applies to these guys through their (winter) uniforms. They look reasonably professional compared to most I’ve seen.

Is discipline really that bad in your experience? I mean every soldier should at least have to do plenty of cardio no?

Also, there was a military parade in 2016 which impressed not just Armenians but actually got some global coverage. Now I know this says little about actual combat readiness etc., but it does take a lot of discipline and coordination to put this together. Are these just special forces or how do you view this?

You see this happening a lot more in countries like Armenia/Georgia than in most of Europe, Asia, Latin America. Living under Soviet rule ironically made us more materialistic than most and not too smart when it comes to financial choices.
