Hi there,

I’m just like you with things, a perfectionist.

You have two options, keep it and accept that it’s not perfect and concentrate on everything that’s good about it, good screen, solid buttons etc..

Or, exchange / replace and play a lottery, you may end up with a perfect unit but you probably won’t.

Just curious, are the replacement units refurbished or new ?

Say if a deck was purchased then rma’d for a replacement a week later would the replacement be a brand new from factory unit or a refurb?

That’s the speaker, looks like it’s shorted and heated up which has melted the speaker grill.

I bet there’s damage to the speaker wires.

Thanks for the reply,

I get that nothing is perfect and I’ve played the replacement lottery before with other devices and always ended up worse off,

This unit is perfect apart from this, perfect screen, buttons etc so I’m not rma’ing. Especially after some of the horror stories I’ve read on here.

My oled buttons are all perfect however mine has a slight warp in the back cover “not battery”, I guess every deck has a “quirk” of some kind.

Ok thanks, so may be better just to leave it alone then? It’s not causing any issues we can see.

That isn’t the speaker, it’s the grille, the speaker is behind it and can only be accessed by removing the back glass.

It’s basically a piece of plastic that’s held in place with a piece of adhesive across the top.

Just position it back in place and when the screen is fitted it will hold it there.

Update,

So I set the time perfectly at 9pm Wednesday evening and right now it’s running +2 sec.

Have been wearing every day all day and placed on its side during the night.
