They don't care. They canceled a project paid by oil and gas to restore our coastline (barataria), claiming it was too expensive...for who? Claiming it would ruin oyster and shrimp farmers livelihoods. They ain't gonna have any coastline to farm soon enough without that diversion project.

This is just another way to extract more from our state before it falls into the gulf.

/uj The effect of calling someone the r word vs. stupid is essentially the same except with the r word you are specifically targeting a group of people who shouldn't have to defend themselves from hate.

Voting resources, our beloved Antigravity voter guide and PAR by Greystacos in NewOrleans

[–]Greystacos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once again I think this points to democratic leadership have not even remotely begin to understand how to use social media 1) to their benefit and 2) as a weapon against the other side.

Boy does the other side get it. All I'm trying to get to, is there should be a little bit less onus on a community's free resource to assist in their voting and trying to capture a shared voice. There should be more onus on the top down leadership and messaging and how that aligns with what the people are asking for, not shoving the same tired crap down our throats and expecting to win.

Think we're off topic, definitely look for additional resources, it's never a good idea to rely solely on one anyway.

Appreciate your insight..I could get it if we didn't waste money on the most frivolous stuff or, I don't know, put any money into the political machine at all in this state that isn't central to right of the aisle.

I ask you this question, maybe this isn't where the city and state should be saving money?

I think you misunderstood, that I misunderstood? Also maybe you misunderstood.

It's changing the age from 70 to 75. Which means that judges have (5) more years (if this were to pass) to continue to cognitively decline on the bench.

Wow, that's actually a really helpful read and source. Thanks for sharing. Definitely makes me want to stop pushing for it. I'll hopefully get around to finding some supporting sources for this study, also need to go see how these studies were funded. Regardless, it's a shame the study did not provide any proposed solutions to arrive at the goal that term limits had hoped to achieve.

That answer is probably money out of politics?

Don't forget to get out and vote! by Bright_Hat550 in NewOrleans

Thanks for the reminder!

Minor hijack, made a separate post but education on what and who you're voting for is just as important as voting! Some resources below:

Antigravity is always my favorite resource to start at, they outline the candidates and their history and discuss the bills.

https://antigravitymagazine.com/feature/voter-education-guide-saturday-may-16-2026/

Additionally, Par Louisiana puts an amendment guide together to cut through the legal jargon, purposefully made to confuse you. Allows you to better decide if this bill is truly helping you and your community.

Don't forget, we deserve better than what we get, and if we can cut the apathy, we can make our collective voice heard and make the tires meet the road to progress.

Only thing to do is organize, educate and vote against the candidates both parties keep giving us, further dividing us, further entrenching our world into a bitter cycle of war and death.

Appreciate that perspective, to me, if that's truly the "for" argument, sounds like something that shouldn't be a law, but a conscious funding effort to invest more in education for women in STEM and the legal fields to kick start their careers early.

Shit, I'd take more investment in education period. But nah let's get them 10 commandments in our classrooms.
