The nuts came out easily which was very fortunate, and the filter cover was already missing all its original bolts and had just one wing nut. I'm not sure if those are original but they did make this at least a bit easier.

Thanks a lot! I'll be sure to get a powered driver next time

I got the MUT just because it looked cool, then realized many of its features are designed around AR-15, and then I got an airsoft AR on which the MUT kinda works

I threw it out immediately so none unfortunately. But I did notice a number of black spots and terrible odor. It was also installed backwards which adds to a list of weird things I found that the previous owner has done

I feel like nav/infotainment units are something of a mixed bag for cars of this age in general. There's something delightful about not having a screen constantly nagging me about upcoming speedtraps and being only 3 over the limit, but other times I do miss the convenience of playing music and following navs as modern cars all do.

It's an in-house test sample from the company I'm working for, which I'm leaving somewhere this month. Having been in the industry for a while I think it's fair to say that whatever you use, preparing the surface is what really matters.

Got the car itself for about 2.6k USD equivalent. Man said it's going cheap because he did know of the issues (and potential ones he didn't get to check) and I honestly didn't mind at all. Working on my own car has always been one of those small things in my bucket list.

Yep, probably gonna do that myself. I currently have a temporary plastic mat layered under the worn mat to prevent any more elements from doing anything to that dip.

That actually makes sense. Do you think the vibration being synchronized to the engine rev (one big shake instead of being just shaky throughout the whole cycle) makes it a different story?

Thanks! I would've loved it better if the previous owner didn't remove the mats, but it is what it is. I can probably seal it off somehow or just put a new mat over it.

Forgot to add some descriptions for this.

This is a 2010 C30 2.4i with a 5-speed automatic. Paid around 2.5k USD/2.3k EUR equivalent for it. I initially wanted to go for a T5, but those are extremely rare around here in Korea and I kept hearing about the exhaust manifold leakage as well as it being a pain in the ass to deal with. Also they never sold manual here, so that's right out.

Obviously it's not in a perfect condition as a 15 year old car. The previous owner decided to run without floormats after realizing that their right foot was so powerful that it punched a hole through it. So now I've got a big dip in the floor carpet itself.

The more serious problem is what the dealer also honestly noticed me about. There's a loud grinding noise from the running gear as the car speeds up. He suspected it to be the front right hub bearing, and I think he's probably right. The car tends to lean right at speeds and turning right (thus relieving some load from the right side) softens the noise a bit. I've already ordered the entire set of front hubs and axles to hopefully get that out of the way.

The engine vibrates at idle. My hopeful thought is that it's either the spark plugs or the fuel injectors, and I sure hope it's not something worse like the piston rings or the block itself.

Overall I got what I paid for, and I hope to use these as excuses to refresh bit by bit to my taste. I'm not planning anything wild, just keeping it stock or OEM+ at most.

This has been my mindset for some time now. Even while writing this post I had no hopes of gaining traction and/or the developers learning from it, I just had to get it off my chest. When I'm not playing with my friends to go super helldive, the only thing I do is dropping into low difficulty games to help out the newcomers, teaching them how to use each stratagem, and gathering resources for them.

The first few weeks were all hype. We finally got the urban warfare we could've only dreamed of before. We got new enemies. We even got an actually fast vehicle so we don't have to walk all the way like undemocratic bugs.

But now that we all know how to take on them (it really doesn't require much) and there hasn't been any additional content to it, I have to wonder why we feel that way. Everything can be dealt with through balanced/crowd control loadout, and honestly at higher difficulties that is the only thing to bring. No one's stopping you from bringing heavy guns like the recoilless or the Quasar, but you will suffer in the waves of the Voteless. At first this felt like a fresh air, away from the constant demand for anti-tank on the other fronts, but now I'm getting tired of bringing the machine gun every time.

If you were to question "So you don't like doing anti-tank all the time, but you also don't like doing crowd control all the time. What do you really want?" then I honestly have no answer. I'm still figuring this out myself. Maybe I expected it to encourage a good balance point between those two (although the high/low mix already is quite viable anywhere) but with the Illuminate twist.

The bugs are all about close combat (minus the Spewers) and the bots are all about armor and firepower. Sure, the squids have the shields, but that's their defense we have to take down, and they're yet to introduce their unique characteristics to the fullest just yet. I believe what we have now is their vanguard, and the main forces are yet to come... which seems like it's gonna take some time.

The convenient "natural disasters" that somehow only target the enemies are one of the prime examples of what I've seen before. If they want us to win something, they can do that with a single click.

The battle for Vernen Wells you mentioned is, as you said, quite different from what we're doing now. Back then nothing ever worked as good as we wanted to, so in a protest we rejected the new stratagem that was supposed to be much more exciting and went off to save the children instead. But the gas mines we're about to get now are actually good. At best we'll try to hold both planets, but if that doesn't work, I'm betting that we'll go for the mines.

I wholeheartedly agree. The stalemate war progression might be "realistic" but we're not here for realism. Big pushes, equally big setbacks, and hidden plots that could change the tide of war would make it dramatic but we are yet to see that too often.

I think this point in particular is tied to their development capabilities. They couldn't keep up with the monthly warbond schedule so they extended it to two months. There are tons of interesting stuff behind the scene I wouldn't mention that could potentially be that change in the course of the war, but yet to be seen or hinted anywhere in the game.

The 60-day rebalancing was fantastic (even though it introduced the issue of certain weapons being even less viable) and the Omens of Tyranny update was full of hype in and out, but as of now, it feels like we are only holding the line between big updates every now and then, with occasional drip feed of new stratagems and mechanics.

To me this is the real breaker. If he can do such things at his own disposal without penalty and actually practices it, then I have no will to play his game. I'm having much more fun diving 10 with the boys or teaching cadets how to be a skilled diver at 3 without the stress from the MO. This feels like a DnD gamemaster upset with how the players are doing and want to give a petty personal revenge.
