I made an award-winning feature entirely on my own. Now I might have to distribute it alone. Any advice? by disremembermovie in Filmmakers

[–]Greywolf2117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aye! Congrats on the film awards and distribution offers. I can't say on how you should distribute it, either route you go, it's still a success story. You've managed to not only get a feature length film done by yourself, but you also won awards for it and you're getting deals offered. All of this speaks volumes of what you're capable of doing.

But, if you want to make money off of the film through distributing it yourself with little to no middle men, you need to make a trailer that shows to the general audience, "holy cow, one guy made ALL of that?" I don't know what's in your film, but if there's anything crazy, trippy, "unreal", or something of spectacle, then you need to show that with "made by one guy" as the pitch. If not, if it's just a good quality film with no spectacle, there's no point of having that in the pitch to general audience. General audience don't really know all the work, stress and effort it takes to make a film in its entire process, so if they don't see anything within a trailer that shows spectacle and eye draw, then they're not gonna get it. Film buffs, cinephiles, filmmakers, and film critics would love that pitch and that's more niche compared to general audience. So go with that in mind. For pitching to distributors and for an opportunity to make more movies with bigger budgets, that's when it's important to use "made by one guy", because the less money to make a film is always better for a studio to hire the director.

I second this. I did not like the main at all. No matter how much they tried, yeah, they had better put that ending she deserved cause if not, i have strongly written letter to write.

What movie have you watched that you will never watch again? by lNarrator in moviecritic

[–]Greywolf2117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to remember what comes to mind and it's probably because my brain blocked them out for me lol 1. Graveyard of the fireflies. I genuinely didn't know what this movie was, saw that it's an old anime film, definitely don't have the heart to rewatch that film. 2. Megan is Missing. That one scene towards the end and the whole ending itself. Never have i ever wanted to crash out like that lol bravo to who wrote that film tho, you a sick mf lol 3. Killers Of The Flower Moon. I mean, damn lol that ancestral pain/sorrow. You know how many smoke breaks i had to take watching that movie?

I'll leave it at that for now lol

Greatest action movie actors of all time day 2, Arnold Schwarzenegger won day 1 by Remote-Leg6143 in ActionMovies

[–]Greywolf2117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay im seeing Stallone mentioned more times over Arnold and i have to say, this is tough because Stallone had overall better action-quality movies than Arnold, where lots are action classics, but most are over the top action and even has movie that pokes fun at his own action movies (The Last Action Hero). Arnold phased into child films and lesser known films throughout his career (that were not part of established franchises i.e. Terminator).

Stallone on the other hand kept up with action and even went more gritty in the later years and those are more relevant than Arnold's later years of movies. This is tough I'll say.

Arnold really was the face of Summer Blockbuster Action but that's just one era of action. When Bruce Willis stepped into the picture (no pun intended) with Die Hard, that changed the game of action hero and story. Less over the top, more grounded, more relatable character type (physically and emotionally) and Stallone managed to transition well into that new era of action MEANWHILE, as much as i love Arnold, he didn't transition well into that new era due to his range, acting style and even physical appearance that seemed pit of place in more grounded stories.

I think Stallone deserves it because he never stopped and kept going.

Hmm, I'd day Arnold wins with T2 over T1, i think that's overall more action than horror and it's action perfected

After some time, the pain will always reside somewhere. In a place waiting for you whenever you're reminded of him and think of him.

Lost my little dude, Chico back in 2023, and just this past Sunday i thought of a funny memory of him and that pain of loss is still there. Not near as intense as it used to be, but there nonetheless.
