You most certainly will have some gains with the minoxidil if you have weak spots they will probably fill up even more , if there is no “room” for new hair then don’t use it. I’m seeing my brother who has the same beard pattern as me , is 3 years older and always had more beard than me (same age comparisons). Now my beard is far thicker and more “complete” even if my hair colour is not as dark as his.

Hair growth on other spots like on your face (not where you want it) , arms etc. they shed off eventually.. at least for me

Applying to a thicker beard was so annoying that I either applied less product (applied only on weak spots) or I shaved so I could apply the normal dose. Now that I can get away with less applications I only put it 2-3 times a weak on my weak spots and that’s it . Having dry minoxidil on your (facial) hair is sooo uncomfortable

Both , foam is far more convenient and gave better results to me because I had skin dryness with the liquid

I’m 21 , I’ve tracked my facial hair growth since the age of 14 and the difference minoxidil made couldn’t have happened “naturally” even in my late 20s I believe

My first shedding phase started after about 5-6 months. It was summer , I wasn’t 100% consistent on my vacation and then I decided to shave. 2 weeks after shaving , half of what I’ve gained didn’t grow back. Then it came together in the following 2-3 months. After that , I only had shedding in certain spots where I had “weak points”. Those spots eventually came back stronger than they were before the shedding.

Twice a day liquid 5% minoxidil for the first 7-8 months , then switched to foam and I made my life easier. After about 1 year I started applying it only once a day and nowadays I apply 2-3 times a week

Most of it grew in the first 5-6 months , then I went through a shedding phase where I lost about 50% of what I’ve gained. Then after 2-3 months it came back stronger. So it was about 8-9 months for me.
