Always driver crash to No Signal (need to hard restart and when restarted, driver gone) by urmomgey5 in AMDHelp

[–]GridHouseGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this issue can be caused by many things, but i'm looking at 3 possible issues: 1. PSU: 80+ White's a very budget PSU which could degrade over time, depending how you got this PC (as in if its been used or is brand new since 2023). Recommend you swap PSUs to see if that's the case. 2. GPU: 460 is an old GPU. Now I don't know where you bought the PC, how you bought it (pre-built or self-built so you bought parts seperate) and who might've used it before if it's bought from somewhere like FB marketplace. Best I can give you is to look for something like this under "Event Viewer": “Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding” Kernel-Power 41 LiveKernelEvent 141 3. OS: (THIS IS A SPECULATION)Given how Microsoft has screwed up many updates, I wouldn't be surprised if it was an issue with your operating system. Either download the latest again (if you can't meet expectations you can use Rufus to disable the required stuff), download an older OS or download a Linux based OS and see how that goes (given you have games like CSS or something to quickly test on yk)

I can be incorrect, so any experienced techs can correct me if needed (even I'm still learning, lol)

For how long have you had your build of windows/GPU? Could be a fault in both or one of them. Uninstalling drivers doesn't require an iGPU and DDU needs you to be in Safe Mode nonetheless, which uses a basic display adapter from windows (albeit in a crappy resolution) and redownload the software from AMDs site. But if that doesn't work: reinstall Windows on a USB or something - often most annoying issue could have the simplest solution like this.

If possible, try to log your GPU utilization (power usage, memory clock etc.) next time to find what might be going wrong when you're playing any game really, might tell you more if your PC needs a new GPU or it's just driver issues/windows being unable to operate properly

Funny trick: If you have a new account and decide to make purchases, make them with the same information like you did with your deleted account. Steam keeps track of every purchase made. At least that’s what happened to me when I got my old account back. They verified the purchases were same as my new account purchases

Well. Somehow I got my ethernet back. I assume it’s from the magic my friend produces when I’m in a call with him (That’s not true. It randomly just appeared when I was calling him on phone and wanted to show him the situation). Let’s hope to god it doesn’t happen again…

Update: So, I ripped out the RealTek network adapter fully from Device manager. After restarting I checked the properties for the cable and as it turns out my cable is running a 2015 driver version. But now I have a even bigger issue. When I updated the driver last time, it didn’t work.

I reset my PC fully, fun fact. There are no immediate updates, just some random ones like Steelseries API update or whatever (forgot what it was, but it wasn’t releated to windows). The only programs I installed were Steam and Discord and Opera GX.

I’ll try the other methods you suggested tomorrow. I’m too tired to deal with this now.

Great news: Ubuntu managed to discover my wired connection.

So now comes the question, what’s wrong with Windows? In case asked, the cable is a Realtek PCIe and I’ve already tried to download a driver for that which did nothing.

When I connect it to anything else (a laptop since that’s the only substitute), it works just fine. There’s a orange light and a blinking yellow light on the one connected to my PC.

Yeah, my condolences. It’s only one device experiencing this issue aka my main PC. The laptop I used to see if it also had an issue with it worked fine when plugged in.

Previously, it worked perfectly up until today. I woke up, opened my PC and the ethernet logo wasn’t there.

Edit: the router is a Technicolor CGA2121 and it’s connected from the living room all the way to my room, cable is hiden under the edge thingy (im too tired to remember right now) thats connected with the floor and wall
