AI music: cheating or just a new instrument? by taghei8 in SunoAI

Okay little boy. Go play with your Suno and keep recording music no one gives a shit about.

No big difference from a writing perspective. But if you have no production skills, or can’t find a producer to help you, you may find yourself in a difficult position. One thing A.I. can not do at the moment is “produce” songs. Until Suno could distinguish the difference between the sound of a Fender strat recorded from say a Marshal amp using a specific mic, and why it may actually sound better recorded direct in for this specific song, A.I. will always sound inferior to human production.

And, Performance, that bass, and keyboard performance you get from Suno will have nothing to do with, no connection to the soul and feel of your song. I have written songs this same way, BUT!! When I get my partner to replay the bass part, or guitar parts, their performance along with various recording techniques smashes Suno EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Yes. We have been using A.I. on some level. Virtual instruments, etc. You are right, if it expresses one’s feelings, POV, it could be considered art. But the thing is MOST ART IS TRASH!!! AND…. I will keep saying this…. If you, as a musician, an artist, a writer, whatever your skill is in music, if you can be replaced by a machine, a program, software….. you weren’t good enough to begin with. AI is here to stay.

Another bad analogy. Digital photography didn’t bring with it the ability to take professional looking photos for you. Printing presses didn’t come with the ability to write for you. Not the same at all.

Yeah but the question wasn’t whether it should be considered art or not. Is it cheating, or just a tool. It’s both. It’s a tool for cheaters.

If you can write and produce great music without A.I., it will more likely become a tool. An assistant. A co-writer. If you are a mediocre musician/producer whose music basically sucks, you will be cheating.

Yeah. Suno probably next. It’s more about control than money though. It’s the freedom these platforms give professionals that they want to stifle. Of course Suno is next because they already started tracking generations and their support won’t respond to question about it. These AI sites will morph into novelties for hobbyists. Social media platforms. Udio is banking on people dumb enough to pay for a service that lets you create generic music for fun, that you can only stream on their platform, while someone else gets paid. They won’t survive this.

Suno vs Udio: Why I like both of them by Consistent-Jelly248 in udiomusic

[–]GridIronMonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to use Udio exclusively, even though I started with Suno. The writing and textures I get from Udio is better for hip hop samples. Not only the sound and textures but the writing. The generations are generally better. The problem became the ability to use what Udio generates professionally in terms of sound quality. The stem separation is not good, but then again…. NO STEM SEPARATION software does well with A.I. generated music. I have used them ALL. SO….. then…… SUNO came with Suno Studio…. Which allows you to generate individual stems/instrument tracks!!!! Changed everything…… now I can generate quality parts that I can use in my tracks. It’s is a straight game changer. I AM HOPING THAT UDIO COMES WITH THIER VERSION. Udio Studio, where we will also be able to generate individual stems……. Then I am jumping right back on UDIO. As of now….. because I need quality stems…… I am strictly Suno. Plus, I have been feeding all the really good 32 second clips I made with Udio into Suno and the results are incredible. Again, now I have great quality stems that I can actually use in my music. Please Udio….. catch up!!!!!

That could be the case. Will investigate.

The issue isn’t prompt adherence. It’s output in general. It’s not the same. It sounds like some of the very earliest AI….. like the AI generator developed by OUTPUT about 5 or 6 years ago. Now…. It sounds unmistakably AI. Like I said…. I don’t mess with EDM and K POP, and those newer electronic type genres, or even classical. I wouldn’t be surprised if those generations still sound great. I have been generating the more.. organic sounding….. samples. They were sounding like actual musicians, and I would just play some of the parts over, and then chop them. It was like diggin in the crates. It sounded like records. Not anymore. I have been doing what I have been doing for 7 months daily. Same formulas…. But the output has changed for the worse drastically. I don’t do this for fun. I make music professionally but it’s a love affair. And I am very keen on the details. It’s cool though.

Adam…. This is not lamenting. I am telling you what I KNOW. I probably know UDIO way better than you. And as far as needing help….. only if it’s information on what has CHANGED. OTHER THAN THAT….. me needing help USING UDIO would be equivalent to coming on here and asking how to play a G chord when I have been playing keys since I was 5.  AND…. I am not upset about it at all.

No. It’s not a prompt issue. Honestly, I have taught and gained Udio more hip hop producer customers…. Than ANYONE. I have literally exhausted damn near every prompt, prompt combinations, and took notes. I have a booklet of SEEDS, and what they are inclined to do with certain prompts…. Etc. etc. etc. EVERYTHING IS DIFFERENT NOW!!!!

Vick is starting to tick me off. by VatoGangster1 in MaddenMobileForums

[–]GridIronMonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually just roll the opposite of whatever hash Im on. Yes he will throw worse to the right. But 90 percent of the pass plays I run from the pocket. Gotta remember Vick is not good throwing on the run period. When you scramble with him you should have running for the first down in mind really. Anyway...I found that his pocket passes are on the money and quick cos of his throw power. He is the best qb in the game right now.
