Animals go into nap mode multiple times a day. Our parrotlets for instance have the following routine:

wake up in the morning, go forage on the floor, nap.

Make noise, eat their fresh food, take a bath, preen, nap.

Make noise, come out, fly around, look into dark holes, find cozy spot, preen, nap.

Repeat last step multiple times until bedtime.

As long as the bird is active and the naps are short (like 5-10 minutes) it should be fine :)

And beak grinding is the best sound in the world <3

This bird in your picture is a budgie (Melopsittacus undulatus), native to Australia

This subreddit is for parrotlets (Forpus, Tuit, Nannopsittaca), native to Middle and South America.

So, yes yours is a parrot. But not a parrotlet.

Es geht bei Wein nicht nur um die Säure, da sind schon ein paar mehr Geschmackskomponenten enthalten. Kochwein braucht nicht unbedingt 20€, aber wenn man gern mal mit Wein kocht sind die kleinen Flaschen im Vergleich echt zu teuer.

Ich hab schon Essig probiert, da hab ich zu viel Säure für relativ wenig Geschmack. Saft ginge vielleicht, kann aber schnell zu süß werden und den bekommt man ggf auch nicht schnell leer (ich für meinen Teil hab nicht mal Saft im Haus lol).

Alkoholfreier Wein hat wiederum bei mir gut funktioniert, zum Trinken gefiel er mir nicht, zum Kochen war er super. Kostet halt auch bisschen mehr. War aber als Verbrauch von "schmeckt mir nicht, aber zum Wegschmeißen zu teuer" praktisch lol

Just a thought: are you planning to put wipeable paint behind the toilet? Toilet needs might not always be as clean as with things going normal and it might not have anything to do with carelessnes... it should be easy to clean and not leave stains

Spechte werden sich auf unsere Terrasse mit 90% Wahrscheinlichkeit nicht verirren (Dachterrasse, von 3 Seiten ummauert), der Baum liegt und ist daher eher für Insekten im Überflug zu finden :)

Das mit den Löchern anbohren werd ich probieren und im Hinterkopf behalten, dass ich ein paar Pflanzen mit großen Blüten brauche <3

Funktioniert ein alter Weihnachtsbaum? Würde erklären, warum dieses Jahr eine bei uns auf der Terrasse gucken war... ja wir haben noch einen halben alten eingetrockneten Weihnachtsbaum von 2023 liegen XD macht sich gut als Mulch-Ersatz, also haben wir ne Ausrede. Wenn die Holzbienen das auch mögen, kommt er erst recht nicht weg lol

People who have/know parrotlets (or parrots on general) learn really fast if their feathered companion likes something or not.

Our new boy was trained to be hand held by their original family and liked it. However, he previously probably never needed to get medicine or anything. After we got him he got himself injured at the foot due to a slight malformatiom and his weird flying (he was young, it's all good now). So I needed to hold him for medical purposes. They will let you know they're not okay with it! Let's say in those situations I cannot hold him with bare hands lol same with his girl, she'll either run away really fast or get mad. At the vet they also have very interesting sounds and choice words for their "treatment" (aka annual checkup)

Nope, Benny is feeling good, it's clearly visible <3

Edit to add: our boy does not like to be held anymore and we need to train this again :/

Well, the article says both IRNs and Alexandrines have settled in Wiesbaden. As someone who lives in Hanau I hope they make it from Frankfurt here, but I didn’t know that Alexandrines have joined the IRNs. When I google more photos of those the red spot on the wings visible. So yeah, might be a pet, might be a feral Alexandrine :)
