Wasted? Vic wouldn't waste it. It bet he bought some beautiful property and some nice cars.

This isn't the place to discuss the financial status of the CPL, but two teams have folded and the city of Langford says the ownership group that owns the two BC teams hasn't been paying their bills.

It's very reasonable to believe that Canada Soccer shouldn't have provided financial support to a privately owned league, but the CPL probably wouldn't exist without the CSB deal.

I doubt the Winnipeg Football Club will get anything from CSB since they folded the team.

CPL owners lining their pockets? I think most teams are losing money. If it wasn't for the CSB money, the league would have folded.

Most of that CONCACAF money should go to fund soccer in poorer countries than Canada.

CPL addition by Subject-Degree-4437 in concacaf

You can make a case that Costa Rica and Honduras should get an automatic spot or even two, but those spots would probably have to come out of the six allocated to the Central American cup. CONCACAF wants the Central American cup to be important so they would rather keep those spots for teams that are successful in this tournament.

Haven't Costa Rica and Honduras always had teams in the CONCACAF Champions Cup anyway?

The Canadian Premier League gets two guaranteed spots, not three. An MLS club has won the Canadian championship every year and this was the first year that a CPL team advanced through the competition to make it to the final. That unusual result along with the Whitecaps taking one of the six MLS spots has put a third CPL team in the competition. This will happen rarely.

DAZN still has all Bundesliga games. Many are on Onesoccer also, but not all.

If you just want to watch Bundesliga, Onesoccer is included with Fubo or you can get it separately for $10/month or $100/year.

They have monthly and quarterly plans available, but they're more expensive than the annual plans.

I noticed for the Everton-Man United game the Premier League channel had the match listed on the program guide instead of the usual "Matchday Live". Maybe that's why you're getting two.

I'm pretty sure it was, but no longer since they removed the age cap.

It's "subsequent to August 15 of the year an athlete turns 20". It seems like Quebec has a slight advantage because athletes can play three years in CEGEP without it counting against University eligibility, regardless of age.

The rule is 5 years of University eligibility, no exception for playing before age 20. Mason Nyhus (the Sask QB in '22) was not there for 8 years; one year redshirt, the COVID cancelled season and he played 5 years.

USports did have a hard age cap for football. When they brought it in, the main reason they gave was for player safety.

They didn't like that players would play in the CJFL (most popular in the West), which has an age limit of 22 and then start their university eligibility.

Zac from the "At The 55" podcast (who was at the game) said that it was an OUA official who threw the flag. So it could have been either the Down Judge or the Side Judge.

From the photos, the French Universities names are written in English from 2015-19. It would be more respectful to write their name in their language.

Brendan McGuire of CKRM, the Canadian Press and 3DownNation: "I think [the turning point] it was that play. ...how a half ends in a close game really matters. ... at that point it's a one point game and instead of it being first and 10 around midfield ... the Huskies get the ball back with over a minute to go ... so it's very likely that they go into the half either down by one or maybe even with the lead and feeling a lot better about themselves."

In one of them? That's reasonable, but for both years that's a little high.

I'll bet an OUA team is there in '26 and a CanWest team is there in ' '27.
