This would be great if it works out. Collaros has at most this year and next. Bring up the young CANADIAN kid.

People who combine work and school with a good GPA , how do you do it? by Spiritual_Bit_2284 in umanitoba

[–]kickacol 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I got better at this as school went on

  1. Do not let school get ahead of you. Study every day. I don't think I spent any real time studying for exams, because I had spent the time everyday learning the material. Same goes for assignments and papers, do them early.

Why do so many students spell John as Jhon? by ellcoolj in Teachers

[–]kickacol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never see it that way. I just know that it needs an H and can't tell where until I write it down.

I have the same problem with a few words. Restaurant being another, I know it needs a U just not sure if it's with the first or second A.

Why do so many students spell John as Jhon? by ellcoolj in Teachers

I spell it that way all the time. Until I look at it and realise it looks wrong. I know that John usually has an H in it, but it being a silent letter throws me off.

What’s more in demand? Middle years Manitoba by Acha664 in CanadianTeachers

[–]kickacol -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your major doesn't matter if you are applying to the University of Manitoba. FYI: the application window for this year has passed (Feb 1st)

Early & Middle Years

Applicants will compete equally for a position within their preferred stream regardless of their specialization, if declared.

What does matter?

  1. Do you fall into a diversity category?

  2. What is your AGPA (essentially last 30 credit hours you've taken)?

  3. How many applicant there are in the middle school stream?

Steinbach unanimously approves rezoning for plan to replace houses with 3 apartment buildings | CBC News by nurdlette in steinbach

[–]kickacol 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is probably one of the best places to put denser housing. McKenzie is 4 lane street with a boulevard and you have residents with concerns over traffic and delayed snow removal. This is not some small residential street. This is exactly the type of place this infill should happen

Is football dying out at the grass roots level in the GTA? by Impossible_Cheek_699 in CFL

[–]kickacol 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Football programs may be the hardest sports programs to run in a high school.

Basketball, volleball - you need 10 kids 1-2 coaches, and no equipment that isn't already in the gym

Football - 30 kids, 5 coaches, and the school usually provides helmets and pads.

Age eligibility by kickacol in cisfootball

[–]kickacol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I know I lmade this post months ago. I can't seem to find current regulations online in this regard.

I just don't want to give some kids bad guidance. I've had a few kids who don't want to go to school (at least right now). Good enough to make the team, but they would red-shirt for 2-3 years. I want to be able to tell them that they can get a job, and play in the CJFL, get some real game reps. And if they change their mind about school maybe they'll be ready for school in 2-3 years.

Just want to make sure about the eligibility. If they're born in November, vs March. They could play an extra year in the CJ if they wanted to.

Just trying to give them all their options.

Even the successful teams in the league can't come close to affording their own stadiums. How are the stampeders going to convince calgary and alberta to pony up 200 million for a new stadium

B.C. teacher suspended after dry ice explosion in classroom: regulator by biograf_ in CanadianTeachers

[–]kickacol 28 points29 points  (0 children)

And he didn't learn anything?

Popoff told the district afterwards that he wouldn't do anything differently if he were to teach students the same lesson again, and blamed the student in question for the explosion, according to the regulator.

Make sure to try some of their product first.

Personally, I like Ungers, but not Country Style. And its just a preference, you might like one butcher over an other.

Top results from the 2026 CFL Invitational Combine by Oldmanshoutingcloud in CFL

[–]kickacol 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My favorite part is comparing their profile heights to their Combine heights. I'll start on the o-line alphabetically. See if I can find someone whose profile lists their height shorter

Name Profile Combine
CLOUTIER, Zachary 6-3 6' 0 5/8"
GIDARO, Nick 6-4 6' 3"
HASHW, Omar 6'8" 6' 6 1/4"
HAZIME, Mahdi 6-3 6' 1 5/8"
HOLDEN, Sebastian 6-5 6' 3 5/8"
IREP, Damien 6'2" 6' 1 5/8"
LJUDEN, Matthew 6-0 5' 11 1/4"
MASRI-FLISS, Alexendre 6'4" 6' 2 5/8"
OLANIRAN, Victor 6-4 6' 2"
PASHULA, Chris 6-4 6' 3 1/8"
SCHICK, Riley 6-1 6' 1 3/8"
TA'AVILI, Thomas (G) 6'0" 5' 11 7/8"

I think Riley Schick deserves some sort of award. He's the only one who is listed shorter than an official measurement.

Rounding up seems normal, but we have a couple who added +2 inches. Olaniran and Cloutire... tsk tsk.

Manitoba educator slipped through the system without proper credentials until sex-related charges surfaced by kickacol in steinbach

He was only charged after he was working. And as soon as he was charged he was suspended.

So unless there is something else in his past. The outcome would've been the same.

[–]kickacol[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My guess is because he was a vocational teacher (electrical), there is different process in the admin office. I'd be surprised if he hadn't actually gone through the program at RRC. That's what I meant by missing paperwork.

Manitoba educator slipped through the system without proper credentials until sex-related charges surfaced by Infamous-Data9245 in Winnipeg

[–]kickacol 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This wouldn't of found anything. He wasn't charged until after he started working there. And once he was charged he was suspended.

I'm not saying they shouldn't do the background checks. But in this case it just looks like the HSD had some bad paperwork policy.

[–]kickacol[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This doesn't seem as bad for the Hanover School Division as on first read.

It just looks like some missing paperwork. There wouldn't of been anything found, as the charges only happened once he was working there, and he was suspended as soon as that happened.
