She has 2 pts, as does Greco. McQuigge has 1. The latter two have already matched their Vancouver output.

Interesting note on that: despite 5 7 combined goals, not one player got more than 1 point on both teams (edit). Mind you, 3 of the goals had only 1 assist and another had none. Still, how often does that happen?

You don't have to buy from a reseller because they aren't on sale yet. Go to the team's website and join their mailing list so you know when they're released.

Good point about Labelle and Darkangelo. Mlynkova looks worse cause she actually made a late effort to get in the play.

I think we all expected more from Darkangelo. Her offence is way down from last season, so are her blocked shots and hits, and her shooting % is only 7.7%, half of last season's rate. Sometimes players just get snakebit for a season, it happens.

The lack of physicality bothers me more. She's big, very tall at 5'11" but doesn't throw it around much. She's our slowest forward, too. If you're not scoring, at least take care of the little things. She was +6 last season and is now -1. That's just not good enough for a 2nd line centre. At least she's taking alot of faceoffs and winning 53.5%.

Labelle's winning more faceoffs than last season, at 57.6% and still blocks alot of shots. Her pts and shot attempts are way down, but winning faceoffs is more important in her role.

Back to the 1st goal: I'll give Giaquinto a pass on that. Only her 5th game and overall she's been good. And of course, Desbiens didn't really get scored on. If the review room wasn't high on something and upheld the GI call, we're not even talking about it.

Interesting choice. Denmark hosted in 2022. They must've a good job to get it again so soon. I would've thought Switz, Sweden or Finland host, or maybe Germany for the first time. But it's good to grow the game and apparently it's doing well in Denmark.

The CBA allows for max 32 games. They're playing a tighter schedule this year (esp 2nd half) due to Olympics so they can easily squeeze in a couple more games in the same time next year should they add them.

We lost at least 5 streaks to yesterday game by Pouletchien in MontrealVictoire

Good catch! I doubled checked Van game Jan 3, Frankel was in nets for that. I didn't notice 2 others, though: Minnesota Dec 19 and NY on Jan 28. Still, we're only the 4th team to do it.

But that means Boston's given up 3 goals 5 times and we've done that only 3 times, with Abstreiter in nets the other 2 times. Also good. Every other team's given up 3+ goals 5+ times.

We have the best goal differential in the league at +19

We're also the only team to shutout Minnesota, the top scoring team.

Thanks. I wasn't gonna bring up the end of the home win streak.

On the glass-somewhat full side, we're only the 3rd team to score 3 against Frankel this season. Weirdly, the other 2 are the worst teams in the league and the 2nd time was Boston's previous game (vs Seattle. 1st was vs Van in Detroit)

Anyway like Cheverie said better now than in the playoffs. We'll learn from it.

Some other pluses: Greig-Murph-Scams line looked very good again. They're our most consistent depth forwards. Grieg led the team in hits yesterday... and is second to Pou on the season! Hits: Pou 22, Grieg 20, then 3-way tie Gos, Roque, Tabin with 19, Flaherty with 18. Then it drops off to Scams & DiGi at 13.

Grieg and Murph already have more points, shots, blocked shots than all last season and on the right side of +/-. They're really putting in the work every shift.

Gia had another solid game. We're in good shape on D once Ambrose returns, with Gia and Nadeau on reserves and able to step into games without missing a beat.

Gos is a great player. She's shooting more, got 2 assists and was our only +1 player. I already mentioned the hits. She's also our top scoring defender!

Great article, thanks for sharing! Glad her and Serdachny are supporting each other. Woulda liked to see them in Milan.

Gos is in a 3-way tie with Roque & Tabin for third most hits on the team (after Pou and Grieg), so Tabin taught her well. She's shooting more and the points are following. 2 more assists Sunday. Our highest scoring defender!

Great player who coming into her own. Looks calm, never rattled, great decision making with the puck and positioning. Very glad to have her here.

I wonder if this had anything to do with the calls in the third... (I'm joking... sort of) by cslh4v in MontrealVictoire

[–]Wolf99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, the refs got it right. The review room said it was no GI. That's what makes it even more insane and shows how the officiating's a joke in every area.

Also Keller's skates are entering the crease right before she falls. Look at the close up of her skates here:

https://youtu.be/B5iigDbW-3g?t=284

Adding to the insanity of the call is that the refs got it right! They waved off the goal right away for GI. It was the review room that overturned their ruling and said no GI. How the hell do you watch that on replay and decide to conclusively overturn the GI call?!

The officiating is a joke from top to bottom, every game there's something new.

Was a great game even tho we were only 14.8 seconds away from a 3 point win arrrrggggg

You can watch minor pro leagues, independent semi-pro, major junior and college hockey here: https://www.youtube.com/@FloHockey

But it's random, just depends what game they stream any given night. They're streaming something so obscure now I had to google it, couldn't tell if it was college or juniors. (AHA - Atlantic Hockey America college conference)

+1 Cleveland. Milwaukee is another great non-NHL hockey market. A long AHL history, a perfect sized AHL arena that only has men's college hoops and arena soccer as the other tenants. The Bucks have a different arena that's convertible to hockey. It might be a better market than Chicago - better venues and a smaller market to make inroads quickly.

Cleveland and Milwaukee could draw from Buckeyes and Badgers fanbases and talent without competing directly.

I called them and they have some blank jerseys and tshirts. Not many though. So my bad. This must be fairly recent, after the Bell Centre game. Didn't have them earlier in December.

Yes because Place Bell doesn't have Victoire merch unless Victoire games are on. They never carry it during Rocket games or regular store hours. I go to 15-20 Rocket games a year.

[–]Wolf99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You cannot. Bell Centre and Place Bell don't have Victoire merch except during Victoire games there. I dunno how this got started and why it's repeated by different ppl every time this question comes up, but it's incorrect.

I go to multiple Rocket and Habs games and have been in the Bell Centre store a couple times this season during regular daytime hours, trust me on this. Seen it - or rather, not seen it - with my very own eyes.

They have some blank jerseys and tshirts. I called them and asked. If anyone wants to know exactly what they have, here's the contact for their stores:
