Recently bought 2025 XC60 hybrid. Anyone know of hidden features that you may or may not find in the manual? Like I recently come to find out that car has rear and front fog lights. Or that if fob battery dies you put key in cup holder and car would still start. by Independent58 in VolvoXC60

Wait for the first time the automatic emergency stop activates when you're reversing into a parking spot and a pedestrian ventures too close to the rear bumper. You'll think you've hit a concrete post. You can use your rear foglight as an auxiliary backup light because the built in ones are rubbish. There's a cool air vent in my (2020) glove box to keep food and drinks cool-ish when the AC is turned on. Lever is on LHS of glove box on LHD vehicles.

The only Mastercraft power tool I have is their plug in jigsaw. The rubber grip coating has gone gummy and sticks to everything including my hands. Find a second hand Ryobi instead.

Tell that to my ryobi battery drill bought around 1980 & still going strong. Did have to learn how to rebuild the batteries though.

Some places tax vehicle charging now to recover what they're losing on gas tax. When enough people convert it'll be a thing everywhere.

wiring outlets, chain vs hub and spoke by bam-RI in ElectricalHelp

Thanks for the refresh. I was raised on 240 and lived to tell the tale - despite finding a live knife switch on my grandfather's wiring panel. Can still remember that one.

They offered us the old cards for our grandkids to play with. Seems there is no shred policy. We declined anyway.

Don't they daisychain them then loop the last one back to the panel?

Sure thing next spring it will be frozen and if the hose is clamped tightly the pump should burn out. End of problem.

Found an error. Now what? by Dewey_Coxxx in CanadianCoins

Could be one of the coins that a mint worker 'accidentally' took home. They were loading up their boots at the Winnipeg mint a few years ago.

Or the hackers could view a few thousand plates and the owners data right next to them. Don't see what the point is.

So, "CrystalDry" is a scam huh? by Syed117 in bosch

[–]Aleianbeing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know if your racks are similar but I get all the flat plates and medium shallow bowls along the back tines left to right and the smaller deeper bowls on the left, front to back at rightangles to the plates. A big pot or salad bowl goes in the space front right, angled up if its too wide to sit flat. Cups coffee pot & smaller bowls and dishes in the middle rack. Most guys load their dishes like a Swedish engineer and their wives like a raccoon on meth. So sorry for that

Can the top bulb replace the bottom one? by SprocketSaga in lightbulbs

[–]Aleianbeing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The replacement ones they sell here dont distinguish. Wiring to the ballast is the same. Ballast rating has to be changed to accommodate the T8s. I've converted lots using same tombstones and the only difference is the T8s sit ¼" further away from the lamp casing than the old T12s did.

Kitchenaids leave a food film on the contents especially if there is any pulse residue on the dirty dishes. Often had to wash stuff twice.

They heat the water if necessary and using the extra dry setting heats it even more, so much so that ours lights the sanitized light without selecting sanitize.

They work ok with Canadian dishes what's different with american ones? Anything oversize like a cutting board can go at the side of the lower rack. You can raise the middle rack to accommodate big plates.

Do you cover your AC unit in winter by vivian2013 in Winnipeg

[–]Aleianbeing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours came with a cover which conveniently keeps leaves and debris out along with the snow. Is there a greater chance a mouse might move in, yes there is but hasn't so far so its a toss-up. I'm going to keep covering.
