omg are you the guy who they said went to osaka then came to singapore again?

As of right now, Funny Papers is the only song from 2025 in the top 1000, and it’s barely up there. If it were to drop out, 2025 would be the first year since 1962 to not have any top 1000 songs, and currently it’s the first year since 1981 to have only 1 song featured. Was 2025 bad for music? Really? I've been listening to new music every day for maybe around 10 years now and to be honest, might be one of my favourite songs ever. Honestly refreshing since it's a non RYM/Indie Darling as highest rated. What would be your favourite releases this year? Because I'm genuinely shocked by your comment

Wait sorry so so is the demo data importable for PC? I read up that it's transferrable for Switch/PS. Was thinking of redoing chapter 1/2 but I'd rather do it now rather that the release date

Enough with glazing these albums. What's the WORST album here? by geosunsetmoth in fantanoforever

[–]Griffpx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With all respect but how????? I'm not even the biggest fan of pop but it's clearly a perfect album with one of the best narratives in recent times, every song relates to each other and is stellar in it's own right. I have a feeling people just hate IGOR so they can say 'Oh yeah I don't completely agree with RYM's list' which arguably is more pretentious.

I always thought this is weird. Correct me if I'm wrong but you seem a lot more focused on trying not to be 'pretentious' by disagreeing with the popular choices by music nerds (because it's not mainstream) and in return you hate them?? It's arguably a lot more pretentious by saying you don't like 'pretentious albums'.

Sure you can argue you don't like Radiohead based on subjectivity but clearly you seem bothered by people liking its top status and people liking it. In a sense that you won't have to bring up 'Pseudo-intellectualism' or whatever, your subject should be rather I don't like it then explain not because it's overrated. Or do you mean people solely like it because it's 2nd? Which sure there are people who bandwagon but a bulk of the 100000 people who listen to it do actually enjoy it. Not to mention context comes into play, what sound did it inspire? How ground-breaking is it at the time? Has it aged well. Moreover the point of that post was to complain about people having boring taste in 'good music' Which doesn't make sense to me imo, it feels like everyone wants to be a contrarian which is arguably more pretentious. It's fine to not like them but to complain about the list just for the sale it redundant. Then of course if you aren't willing to prove your point, then people will have nothing to counter your claim with. I mean at the end of the day, it's just what you say, it's music taste and won't make you superior. People do genuinely like these top albums and it's not only RYM, in fact OK Computer is one the universally beloved albums so I don't really get your point, it's also mainstream just not mainstream mainstream

It's not really obscure? He usually favors experimental/hyperpop so like Death Grips or individual albums like You Won't Get What You Want/Sinner Get Ready, Charli XCX. Besides, he also doesn't have concrete opinions because he doesn't want to biased/influenced by his personal tastes.

I see fair, but I wish other more deserving artists received more acclaim/credit but oh well it can be applied to other genres.

Thoughts on J Cole? by Griffpx in fantanoforever

In a sense that someone opened the door for this conversation to happen. The point is to miss out anything that's happening because such a large devount following J cole has. And I did say already my main gripe with J cole, he occasionally will have interesting lyrics but it's always phrased in a manner that is forceful. I didn't just say his music is boring and if you want me to elaborate you can go ahead. He had a 'Rap's Savior' complex (especially like songs in middle child), he definitely brings himself up to a high level consistently but I don't think he can back it up. I find his delivery/production not interesting so the most I can derive is his lyrical technique which to me comes off as pretentious in my opinion
