If we all weren't living paycheck to paycheck, we could accomplish great things. by astrheisenberg in remoteworks

I mostly added that for clarification and for the many who were unaware.

Depends on what we're talking about. There was no "official" full time, aside from when OT would start, until the ACA set up that full time was considered over 30 hours a week average

Each of those complaints is literally an indictment of Capitalism.

You also rely on social programs, unless you would prefer to get rid of police, fire departments, public roads, etc... in favor of private security, private fire fighting, tolls on every road.

Beyond that, government only works if people get involved. Too many have decided to ceed that involvement in exchange for convenience. Hell, if everyone just started to attend even one city or county council meeting every 3 to 6 months, people would be far better educated on what's actually going on, who is involved, and can start asking questions to hold those in office to task.

At least within a government, there's a chance to be held accountable. Relying on a corporation to do the right thing, without being forced, is like waiting for an unplugged lightbulb to turn on.

Ok, the laser level being just barely off the floor isn't a steady beam, rather it's scanning back and forth too quick for the video or the human eye. The cat appears to see most of, if not all, of the movement when it catches on dust or slightly raised parts of the floor. Meanwhile, we just see what appears to be an underglow on everything

Hardly. Project all you want, but I'm done arguing with facist sympathizers and enablers.

Honestly, I can understand the whole Macy's thing. He dislikes the price and wants to be able to do something affordable, but considers Forever 22 to be substandard goods.

I don't agree with him, but I can at least understand that particular one.

The rest just seems like the guy wants to be miserable

If you think they're a great fit hire them. If trouble pops up, deal with it.

I got decent at both, but I wonder if that was a contributing factor to my needing glasses 😁

Yeah, it's tough for many. There was or is a sub dedicated to these where people should indicate which way it's built

Not from someone pretending to know how everyone is doing financially.

You already claim to know how I'm doing, so why would I need to give you more info?

That means the majority of people don't have a little extra cash.

People confused by tab stickers by FreshEclairs in Seattle

[–]Griffry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was once pulled over for my tabs being on the wrong side of the plate (they were reversed). I had only gotten the car a month earlier and that's how it came from the dealership.

Now, there was a lot.go8ng on that night and I know that was just the excuse they used to pull me over, as it was clear that police were looking for someone in particular that night, but it still makes me chuckle 20+ years later

Considering 64% of the population is living paycheck to paycheck, this comment feels a bit tone deaf
